Daicamping DL1 Multi-Tool Is Shockingly Good!

I picked this one up from Ali, and really the only disappointment was the black coating. The serrated blade was completely coated in the black paint, so as a result there was no usable edge on it right out of the box. I had to sharpen the serrations immediately in order to knock down the paint and reveal the cutting edge.

It seems like a great tool but on these you're right, the coating can be a bit much.

@@detectiveconan6610 no problem can't wait for the full release of the Arc. the only thing i wish they had did was make the saw and file interchangeable like on the surge. and and a hole on the awl but that's a easy mod. i have a drill with the awls name on it :P

No file. They should dump the serrated blade for a 2 sided file

I'm not a fan of serrated blades either. But, for a lot of people, it's really handy for cutting rope.

The DL12 comes with a file in the place of the scissors (that are on the inside l😉

i use it for wire stripping on thin wires. You can see a gap in it when fully closed so it makes sense that it is never going to fully close on anything

That one shorter blade in the wire cutter allows -somewhat- for wire stripping:

I just received the new daicamping DL5, it has large scissors which are superb. Would like too hear what you think.

They really should have added the t-shank adapter> Now it doesn't have the diamond file which is a total sin for a leatherman wave/surge clone. I think I still prefer my swiss tech wave clone with its molly sheath. No surge sized option from them, but for the wave clone it seems better.

@@hvacbudget8600 Wow! Thank you! I used to use the NexTool Flagship Pro as my EDC, but the metals in the tools are too soft and were easily twisted out of shape. Then I switched to Roxon Phantom, but the locking mechanism in the scissors broke in no time. I hope that the Daicamping DL 5 would last longer. 🙂

Could the hole at the bottom of the wire cutter meant to be used for wire stripping?

I believe that is the hard wire notch. I think the can opener has the wire stripping notch.

I think the pivot holes are different but enough grinding or filling in as the case requires it could be made to work.

The micro driver shouldn't bend when using it for toys, exchanging batteries and tightening eye glass frames. That's on the manufacturer and a big disappointment. That's why I'm not a huge fan of these clone multitools.
