Bajia, I thought it was about time that I let you know how much you have taught me. I am a Korean American married to a Pakistani. Through you I have learned to cook many of my husband's favorite dishes. He especially loves the mooli paratha, the turnip and beef dish and of course the curries. I have also finally learned to make a proper roti. My cooking has become so popular with his friends that I always have to cook extras. Thank you so much!

If I am cooking my biryani on a non stick handi with a tawya under it on the gas and not on rice cooker like you, how long do you suggest to cook the same in 'duum'. Will wait for your response.

+Celia Younger tawa is a straight pan like a big plate. It is usually used to make roti. do u understand what is roti? :) it is kind of bread but very thin in size. eaten with curry. when the rice u r cooking is almost dried up u put the pot of rice on tawa on stove. and keep the heat low. It won't cook the rice it will just give a slight heat. This is alternative and much better way of cooking rice if u don't have rice cooker in case.
