Makes a refreshing change to see a guy doing the donkey work that other people farm out, amazing attention to detail and absolutely brilliant results

enjoying the series great trucks. only thing i would of used cupro nickel brake lines.
@JohnnyGetsCash2 жыл бұрын
Very fair comment. On reflection perhaps I should’ve gone down the CN route but it was a case of bull ordering bits when I bought the base vehicle and I guess I was in autopilot and didn’t think far enough outside of the box. That said, if these copper lines give me any grief down the line, I’ll have to get back in there and throw CN lines at it!

Business As Usual - Brilliant proper job throughout Johnny! This massive job is something that I could watch all day long, but can’t wait for the next episode(s) and to see the end results, it’s very exciting! 💪🏻🤩🤙🏻

Thanks very much! This was a big step forward as it means that I can start work on the body at last (which will be an epic task to get 100% rust free)! Thanks for watching

Looking like the pups pods sir! Although I'm not going to lie, I am mildly disappointed that you didn't do the valve cover bright red! 🤣 Great job and great video, thanks for sharing with us dude.

I would’ve gone for bright Red, but I didn’t need the extra 10hp that that would bring 😂

Excellent restoration series Johnny, I've had my 1992 Fourtrak for nearly 3 years now and love it, luckily it had been very well cared for and I've just cleaned and re-painted the complete underneath for the second time ( didn't need doing again to be fair ). Mine's definitely a keeper and the first diesel car I've actually owned myself in 42 years of driving ( had diesel company cars / van ). Tend to buy and hold onto mine, had my 1961 TR4 for 33 years, 1966 A35 Van for 24 years and a 2004 Nissan 350Z for 7 years. Keep up the great content!

Thanks Gerry- it sounds like you have great taste in cars! Once this one is finished I believe it’ll be ready to face many more years on the road!

Hi Johnny, you’re doing a great job. I just bought a 94 Fourtrak with a restoration in mind. I’m getting a good education watching your videos

Cheers Brian! More power to you - we need to keep the Fourtrak name alive on our roads!

Excellent series bro! Really looking forward to the final product. Would be great if you upload videos every week.

Thanks very much! I am trying to release content more regularly but the trouble is that everything I do is quite an involved/ complicated process and as I want to show you guys decent work / progress in every video, this often means getting a few months worth of work done before compiling it into a video! Thanks very much for watching!

I am watching all of your videos with the hopes and dreams, that I someday learn the skills & have the tools to do the same stuff to an old mercedes w124 myself or other cool old car.

Great video as usual..I really enjoy your videos..just curious as to what type of paint you used on the exhaust manifold..it looks textured ?.. looking forward to the next one..👍
@JohnnyGetsCash2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Thomas. The paint on the exhaust is actually just VHT enamel Black however the manifold itself has that texture due to the casting. I did use a VHT texture paint on the turbo inlet manifold though (the kind that you apply heavily in multiple directions and bake on). It’s great stuff!

Nice video mate. Just out of curiosity, why didn't you want to rehone the cylinders? Much more work but a great time to do it, unless of course they looked good already :)
@JohnnyGetsCash2 жыл бұрын
You’re not wrong - it would’ve been the best time to do it now however it would’ve meant sending out to a specialist and as there were no apparent faults or weaknesses with the engine I just opted to stay with a healthy service for this one! All that said, if anything tears it’s head down the line, I will of course deal with it and eat a big slice of humble pie 😂

Where did you get the gearbox rebuilt and are parts still available for it? Mine seized and I'm looking to rebuild it myself but I can't seem to find parts for it.

How much is a new fuel tank for one of these? I get that it's diesel and will probably never rust outside but looks like it lost a fair amount thickness from the outside...really want one of these
@JohnnyGetsCash2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately new tanks are almost impossible to find so if you’re after a new one you may be better going down the custom / aftermarket route.
