FYI mate, you can add a swivel tee to the discharge port you put your VCT on and use a aftermarket HP switch. Done it plenty of times, saves pulling the charge and much quicker repair.

One of my earliest videos is doing this exact thing on an old EmailAir Package unit. Love the swivel T’s. The reason I didn’t do it here was I didn’t think they’d go ahead with the repair. They’ve been upgrading the site to Daikin VRV’s and this unit was next to go. Probably won’t be the next to go anymore 😂

The joyful works of HVAC mech in down under. What’s annoying on Daikin units was the way they install those components in an awkward location and wish you have baby hands to get in those.

100% 😂 most manufactures are trying to be the smallest footprint unit available which is fun for service techs.

I’ve always been to paranoid to vac dirty pump downs to reuse them but I guess this helps with some reassurance, grouse vid once again! 😊

This one was a new bottle but I just pulled a vac on it to make sure it was in a vacuum. Habit i was taught in my apprenticeship. I have reused bottle in the past though. Thanks mate, glad you’re liking the videos.

Had this issue at a gas station, didn't want to wait 3 weeks for a hotworks permit so just done a 1/4 to 1/4 flare join. No leaks so far..

Are you going to upload a video on the coil replacement on that Mitsubishi unit?
@hvacraustralia4 ай бұрын
I am. I’m editing that video now to upload so it will be out next week.

Should run a video on tools, where they're from etc. Those depressors look nice
@hvacraustralia4 ай бұрын
The depressors are very handy. I have two types. 2x Tesco which I picked up from Daikin and 2x Refco which are from Actrol.

Quick Question: Are you using Mobile app to see these faults? Just curious what device you use to read out data from Daikin PCBs.
@hvacraustralia4 ай бұрын
No, I used the remote controller to bring up the fault code in this instance. I have the Daikin Bluetooth Service Checker Tool also which you can plug in and get readings from.

sorry to sound dumb but whats the buttons you were pressing for at 17:50 ?
@hvacraustralia4 ай бұрын
The buttons are BS1, BS2 and BS3. It’s the same setup and the VRV III’s. I was using them to put the system into Mode 2-20 (Additional Refrigerant Mode).

Wheres the Apprentice Mate?! Stuff lugging all that shit up and down by yourself haha. Also Curious to know why you vacced the pump down as it was a new bottle? They are already vacced once you pick em up from the supplier.
@hvacraustralia4 ай бұрын
I know 😂 I was dead by the end. It’s a habit I was taught in my apprenticeship that I’ve followed through with. Just confirming 100% that the bottle is in a vacuum and wasn’t somehow broken before it got to me.
@AGeurts4 ай бұрын
@@hvacraustralia Yeh thats fair enough, definitely a good habit. I will Vac the bottles if I reuse them (dont ask me where the gas goes)

Hmmm... Why is not "H3"? "E3" appears when HP-swith OFF during compressor is ON. "H3" appears, when HP-switch stills OFF during compressor is OFF.
@hvacraustralia4 ай бұрын
There’s always a potential the outdoor board had a H3 logged, but I only checked from the remote at the indoor so not sure. Regardless, the fault code is only a starting point for testing.
