Thanks! Brings back some memories! I had the joy of working on one of these about 40 years ago. When they were new the sport model, with the thick rear hatch glass surround rubber. If the hatch was slammed shut, the glass would pop out on the ground. It usually didn't break as the rubber stayed on it. You could put it back in with a cord around the seal and soapy water, like a VW Beetle windshield.

Terrific video. It had suspense, drama with a red villian, and ultimate triumph. I cheered your victory over adversity. Added bonus, two Stella cameos for the astute viewer. Thanks!

I used to adjust the valves on my R-5 (LeCar) by jacking up the left side so the left front wheel was off the ground, leave it in gear and roll the left front tire to move the engine where I needed to to adjust valves. Of course you had to do the LeCars that way as there was no crank sticking out the front of the engine

Strange question: couldn't an electric fan be used in place of the mechanical, thus relieving the drag on the engine and freeing up a horse or two? I'd imagine you'd need every pony you could get out of that 2 cylinder.

Then you have to run an alternator, convert that to dc, through battery, through motor. You dont save anything, its the same load thereabouts.

@@monelfunkawitz3966 The alternator on a 600 is built into the engine, does not relate to the cooling fan

A Honda GL1000 fan is almost a direct fit into the aluminum housing after you bust out all the original squeeky fan parts. I ran one for 10 years.

Excellent video...where else can you get a road test video of a honda n600? And a daily driver at that! How many miles has this rare car accumulated in its lifetime?

I drove these Hondas in the late 70s. I had one that the valve seat had come loose. Every time the valve opened the seat would slide down. This kept any fuel from going into combustion chamber. I took the head off and JB wielded it back up into place. I drove it a couple years with no more issues.
