thank you for this very detailed review ! I can only aggree with you...I own the MT G80 since 2021 (80'000km on the clock) and it's just a brilliant car, through and through. And I love the Manual...gives me the connection to the car. yes, you feel the engine is tuned for the auto...but still plenty of power. It's so much fun and also just to cruise around absolutely great. Thank you BMW, really. Awesome car!

4 track days on and I'm still on the factory set of pads. I too am genuinely surprised at how well they performed and lasted. Never experienced brake fade and stopping power was phenomenal.

Super clean spec, looks great. Only thing I'd do is upgrade the splitter to CS BMW oem one. You barely lose clearance and it looks sick. Enjoy your beautiful car and love that you don't mind racking up the miles.

It's interesting to me that a lot of car enthusiasts have opted for the auto. I guess it's to do with AWD. I would really like the manual but I live in a mountainous area and could actually use the AWD for a part of the year. So now I have to choose and it's a terrible compromise to have to contemplate. I'm sure the auto is just fine and I would love it but I drive a manual now and I enjoy it. I am pretty sure I'd enjoy the manual in a M3 even more. Not sure why BMW can't just offer AWD in a manual as well. Seems like an artificial limitation but I can't figure out why they would do this.
@ferozmoto67662 ай бұрын
The take rate of manuals are low as it is, they probably did not want to have to engineer anything special for a niche spec although I would see it selling like wonders. Would be a bullet proof sti in some sorts. If they had a manual xdrive I would have gotten one in a heart beat. Biggest limitation is the clutch and transmission as they are somewhat carry overs from the previous generations. Good luck on your decision. I know many manual guys moving to autos and not the other way around so don’t feel bad on what you land on. Thanks for watching!
@Screaming-Trees2 ай бұрын
@@ferozmoto6766 Fair enough. I am still leaning towards a manual and I guess I'll just have to keep another car around for the winter. Did you happen to buy the M Driver pack when you bought your M3? That's the one that unlocks the top speed limiter and includes a day at the track course with an instructor. For sure I don't have anything against automatics. IN fact there is a better deal in terms of interest rate on an auto in my area at the moment which might throw a spanner in the works on the whole thing anyway and I might still end up with an auto. It isn't the end of the world but there is a sense of accomplishment in a manual when you pull off a quick start or a perfect rev match etc. It can't really be replicated on an auto where you just mash the accelerator basically. But hey, it is what it is now. Is the manual really that much slower than the auto though? I see a lot of threads and videos talking about AWD being faster but I don't know. The manual is still 500hp. Can't imagine it being slow.
@ferozmoto67662 ай бұрын
I got this car used and I don’t think it came with the package. I think this car is very balanced for what it is. For a drivers car it’s never about numbers but how it makes you feel and how the power is usable. I think the tuning and delivery is perfect for the chassis and makes it enjoyable to rev out and shift. The car is plenty fast. If you’re chasing numbers the auto is always the answer but if you want to just enjoy the m3 and have nothing to prove it does its purpose.
@Screaming-Trees2 ай бұрын
@@ferozmoto6766 Well said. I don't really care about the numbers. The car, stock, with the limiter off will hit almost 190mph. That's already more than you can ever use in North America. It's a little slower to 60 than the auto sure but I think the manual would offer something else compelling to offset the acceleration thing. Great video by the way. Videos like yours are invaluable in this day and age where it's difficult to see cars in person and you have to make decisions online a lot of the time. Thanks again and keep up the great work.

1 year and 17,000 miles is not "long term" but i think your video is really well done. I had cars in my 20's I owned for 5-7 years and put 80K miles on them. Thats long term haha

Most of the owners of my car keep them as garage queens and rarely see the mileage I’ve been doing. But I do agree with your sentiment. 1 year ownership review would be more fitting. Thanks for watching!

I keep my cars a long time. I have had my E60 535i M-sport manual for 12 years and have put 120k miles on it. I put 100k+ of my own miles on a 1986 Mustang GT, 1990 300zx Twin Turbo, a Supra Turbo, a BWM E39 540i Sport, an Audi Q7, a Volvo XC90 and a Toyota 4-Runner. I should point out that I bought all of those cars pre-owned with 30k miles, so sold most with 130k+ miles on them. Now those are long term!
