Caught myself grinning the whole time you caught that first fish. Brought back good memories of my husband and I fishing years past. Miss fresh caught fish for sure. Those fillets looked fine to me!! 😊

Thank you! This open-hook lure worked a lot better than the wrap-around weedless one I'd been using up to this point. There is no shortage of fresh Pike in this lake, although I learned later from a neighbor the poor salmon run this year forced guides to take clients farther up the chain of lakes to fish for pike. We think this took a large toll on the pike population🫤 Anyways, I hope you and your husband find an opportunity to go fishing again soon! Best wishes and thank you for watching!

@@OhashiOutdoorsIn an “average year” do salmon come up into your lake? If not what other species can you fish for as well as pike?
@OhashiOutdoors27 күн бұрын
@@ATH_Berkshire I've only had this property for about 2 years and have seen salmon migrate up to this lake during spawning season both times. I've only ever caught Pike in the lake though. Thank you for watching!

Good editing on your videos! I like the way you showcase each project. Did you do a tour of your cabin yet? I think one of your upgrades might be some sort of solar hookup. Depending on the size it would help for lighting in the outhouse, kitchen, etc. If I am right you access the property by float plane, which can limit what you bring up. Anyway, good series of videos because it showcases what it takes to really be off grid! Thanks again for sharing! Rick From Virginia
@OhashiOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Every video is edited mostly in the order the footage was filmed. What you see is almost exactly the order I'm doing projects in. Solar would be great to have up there! For the interim, I plan to bring a portable batter bank out there and charge it with the generator. This will prevent me from having to run the generator to only charge 2x camera batteries and a cell phone. As the project progresses, a solar hookup is definitely in the cards though! Thank you for watching, Rick! Cheers
