I rescue/foster litters with and without mommies in S. TX. I've had as many as 12 puppies at once and there is nothing as gratifying as seeing them in their forever homes in Michigan. Some of my litters have even had "family reunions" with their Momma's, 6 months to a year after being adopted. ❤️

It's wonderful that you're trying to help these dogs. It looks like you all worked very hard to make this project come together quickly. Perhaps now that you're settling in to this new business, you might consider making your coffee shop signs, branding and website Spanish as well as English, given that your business is located in Mexico. Perhaps you're trying to appeal to Canadian and American expats and travellers but I suspect that a lot of people would appreciate you recognizing that you're doing this in a Spanish-speaking country, probably not least of all your Mexican neighbours. Continued success on your new venture!

this is a great mission and i hope its going well! I'm a positive reinforce trainer and i hope u r both using that code of conduct in this shelter and recommending it to people who adopt. the tricky part of training is that a lot of the time adding more stimulus, like a vibration or shock can not help them calm down / listen / ignore the stimuli. dogs have about the mental capacity of a 5 years old human (just a comparison) so respecting their boundaries, redirecting, counter conditioning are all important aspects. i really only bring these things up because i know groups of dogs can be very tricky especially with trauma and illnesses entering the picture with the dogs you are taking in. ( i did dog daycare with these methods for 4 yrs and did vet help for 4 more years prior) sometimes dogs just don't mix and it is tricky to learn. If you guys have any questions or concerns with things you're dealing with, i would be more than happy to try to explain this in more detail / troubleshoot issues you are having on sight from a perspective of someone in the field! i really love the work you are doing here and wish you guys all the best! also really glad you're recommending spay neuter later in life and not as babies as it can stunt their growth or cause complications later. its also really cute to see you guys in a cafe, didn't you guys meet working in a shop together?

Knowing you cannot enforce anyone from another country to spay or neuter only encourages unreputable people to use these doges for unethical practices. If you really care then put up the money to have them spayed, and or neutered. Please be more responsible for these dogs. They deserve it.
