I was staring at your hands whilst you were eating with the chopsticks observing the movements of your fingers on how they control the chopsticks as I am keen to learn on how to use the chopsticks. The "Philippine style comforting rice porridge" or "Arozcaldo" ⬅️◀️ the specific name of it. Seeing you eating with that made me craved for it. My dear Lucy Lou. I have been enjoying your videos for several weeks now and, like your addiction to your Chinese dramas, I am addicted to you. I especially like watching you cook. You mentioned that you are trying to lose weight. Perhaps cutting down on the number of eggs you eat in a day would be a good way. Eggs have a high fat and cholesterol content, and one egg per day, whether in your French toast, or as a protein in your meal, is enough for an adult. You certainly have a nutritious diet!! Plenty of protein, and nutritious veggies and fruit. I love tagging along on your trips to the grocery stores in Japan. My Canadian grocery stores are so different from yours. You are an inspiration, as you are very intentional in creating some achievement in each day. From a Canadian Grandma

I really enjoy being like a sloth on rainy days, doing not much work, especially if it is cold outside. 😂 I like to watch movies with a blanket and a cup of tea or I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles or read. Lou....you are right it is better to focus on exercise than food. Get a big umbrella and go walk in that rain. Time it for one hour or more, or go out twice for shorter. I am in BC Canada, big focus on health here. I start each day with a smoothie, frozen half banana, frozen berries, almond milk, protein powder, kale,yogurt, almond milk, etc. Blend in a blender, so good!! Eat less carbs like white bread, rice, pasta. We eat very healthy bread here with a lot of fiber. But I make things like homemade Ramen with low salt broth, no noodles but lots of bean sprouts, zuccini noodles. Carbs turn into sugar, we can have some but not alot. Have toast for breakfast but then thats it for the day, no more rice, pasta that day. Its not a diet it is a way to eat for life.😊😊😊🙏ps...there is a lot of supplements like selenium that help with thyroid, also bovine thyroid, kelp, iodine for internal health.

The porridge is delicious. A Chinese friend taught me to make it years ago. I have not made it for a long time because of my weight problems I rarely eat rice. But, I'm going to try making it with quinoa which is higher nutrition and more filling than rice. The bear looks adorable upside down in the cup!

Roasted seaweed is good for a throid issue salted nuts like Brazil and macadamia fish and I read daily and fresh eggs also look into this to ease your situation

A lovely flowing vlog. I don't often have French toast, but I sometimes have it as a sandwich with melted cheese and salami or ham in the middle. So good, but is defs a treat meal........you can also try it with crispy bacon on too with maple syrup, again a treat meal

Hey hi Lou c...I m from India...I also have thyroid problem...I visited the hospital few days back to a endocrinologist who is a thyroid specialist...He suggested no food limits for me but I have to eat cooked cabbage and cauliflower..raw intake of cabbage as salad is not good for thyroid. U can also try that if u want to❣️

Всё таки утром хлеб, обжаренный тем более, был лишний... Для похудения лучше есть кукурузный хлеб. Нельзя его жарить, а потом ещё и поливать сиропом.... Это мой совет вам... Лишнее движение только укрепит вас физически, но похудеть при этом почти невозможно...

Hi. Weight loss is a constant battle-however with Thyroid issues it can be very difficult. Some of my friends have thyroid issues- either removal or sluggish. Synthroid is a medication that restores your thyroid to normal functioning- sounds like with weight gain and sluggishness you may need medication to get your body balanced. Try to get another opinion from an Endocrinologist who specifically deals with thyroid issues. You look great-by the way! I hope you get answers! 🥰

Dear Lou C. Why won't your doctor give you thyroid medication? You can start at a very low dose and see if it helps. We cannot always get what our bodies need just through food or supplements. And thyroid medication is not expensive at all, especially if you get the generic (not the name brand ) kind. It makes me sad to know help is so easily available for you and you are not getting it. Yes, it would be wonderful if your family could visit. You would have so much fun showing them the places you like. 😊

Before I ask the doctor about the medication but she said it’s not needed since before I took surgery my thyroid that had been was not already functioning, that’s why she said I can live without any medication. I agree, you should have a second opinion! I have had thyroid cancer several times and the thyroid can cause weight gain/loss and so many other issues. Please Lou go see a different doctor.

I agree! I have Hashimoto’s disease, I still have my thyroid but it’s completely atrophied and I take thyroid medication, i wouldnt have the same life without it! you definitely need to take thyroid medication when you are thyroid has been removed even partially, please get another opinion! You would feel so much better on medication I promise ❤

I wonder about medications ( thyroid) your doctor prescribes. Do you take tabs for hormonal imbalance ? I do have mine, I take every morning before breakfast. Ask your doctor about it.

Nice video always! Exercise will help but healthy weight loss requires a healthy diet :) The best start would be adding more fresh produce and low carb options to your meals, reducing fried and processed food and sweets. Japan is heaven for healthy meal options, I'm sure you can change your habits if you really want it. For exercise videos, I'd recommend Hybrid Calisthenics, he has really good tips for beginners and free workout routine on his website.
