Targeted Naltrexone combined with a daily low dose of Ketamine(80MG) has been incredibly effective for me. I feel liberated at last.

Thank you for the information, I was really questioning why my provider wanted me to do daily naltrexone vs the sinclair method. This really helped clarify why the daily naltrexone is the best option for me, especially starting out

No wonder. I am 13 months in and I am not a good candidate for targeted naltrexone. I recently started taking it every day at lunch. I will see how that works for me

Curious if that makes a difference! As a coach, I would have several questions for you to better understand why it may not be working… often times there are good reasons and/or things that can be tweaked. Hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Very well explained by Dr. Volpicelli. Even though I have been a pretty heavy daily user for 30 years, I think I am more of a person who can use the Sinclair Method of targeted Naltrexone use. I guess I will find out, I am on my second day of treatment.

@@cjharris594 First let me preface this by saying that I am still very early on my journey to control my alcohol use. Past results are not a guarantee of future performance, as they say, but… My experience with Naltrexone has been great so far. Today is day 22. I have been alcohol free 13 of those days, and to be honest, I did not have any cravings to drink on the days I did. It was more force of habit or just the social norms of my friends group. Grilling at a buddy’s house, drink beer, watching a football game, drink beer, that kind of a thing. On the days that I do choose to drink, my consumption has decreased by 75% or more (from 12-15 to 3 drinks). I have been a daily drinker for over 30 years, with multiple half-hearted attempts to quit, or even just reduce my intake. This time, I was serious about controlling my drinking and TSM has been my insurance or security blanket, whatever you want to call it, it is working. Naltrexone has been a game changer for me. I understand that my response to the method may not be typical, but I think that if you truly want to be in control of your drinking and are 100% compliant with the method you have a great chance of succeeding. I hope that helps.

What about Native,Americans who have such a heightened sensitity to alcohol which was really introduced to them wherever they were colonised? Have you looked into this with Native Communities, which are and have been devastated by alcohol?

I took my first naltrexone yesterday. Usually a bottle of wine a night, or more, and i only had 1 & 1/2 glasses. Normally when I cut back I replace with food but I had no desire to overeat. I feel hopeful this will work for me.

What do you consider long history? So many accelerated and or became drinkers during Covid.

Daily AM at about 10 flattens me out and keeps me needing to rush home and skipping life to make the appointment to get the buzz as I feel flat and ok during the day, that super strong craving is dulled out during the day, then I find if I do want to drink, I get a controlled glow still and I can - want or just stop at about 2-3 strong drinks over about 45 minutes, with a nice glow, instead of no pill = 6-8 drinks and no memory of the second half of the session. I did do target on the first night, 1 hour, and yes, it killed the whole session after about 1.25 drinks as there was NO glow so that works as a back up tool like me - if you wake up in the middle of night even after an afternoon session and want to "put one on"....take the pill and try to wait, and it will let you just go back to bed. its stopped me from doing a "double" session in th 24 hours!

Its not always true. i take 50mg of naltrexone and still feel energized after a few drinks and want and do keep going

How long have you been taking naltrexone? I've heard it takes 6-9 months to work. He did mentions some people are not genetically compatible.

@christophersecreto5686 not everyone benefits and yes it takes a while and one must be faithful to the timing before a drink. One size does not fit all but the studies in Europe find it affirming. Also Zzintracenous naltrexone, is better than pills, but pharma really charges $1600 per shot. Help rather have yiu get pills at rehab. Definitely see all on TED Talks and wherever and then you can make up your path.

Sorry for typos injection seems more helpful but is not protocol for the sinclair method.

How often do you have to take naltrexone every time you want to drink or once a day?
