Jer had a good night but was up with the runs near 5am. Thankfully he didn’t stay up too long and was back asleep near 7. I packed the van up and started his treatments near 9am. He was so sleepy he didn’t budge. We did make it to the racetrack and it was such an amazing experience. Definitely a tear jerker to see all the families, but to have some of the junior racers interact with Jer and also write his name on their cars was the sweetest thing ever. There were close to 100 cars and their supporters. We shared his story and he was happy to see Sydney’s sister Skylar in her teal colored car. They lent us headphones for the sound and Jer was comfortable watching all the Junior dragsters. It was my first time at such an event so Sydney and Skylar’s family taught us a lot. I hope we get to make it back out tomorrow as well with all of the boys. Once home we honestly rested for the rest of the day and Jer played with his race cars. He wasn’t as excited to stay inside but I didn’t want to overdo it. He isn’t ready for bed either. I was so thankful he didn’t need oxygen today on our time out the house. I am going to give him a little tonight though. I’m still just in awe of the event that Ms Melissa and her volunteers put together. This is their 11th year doing it and they have blessed 56 families so far. I love being able to connect with genuine souls. Today we pray that you take the time to step outside your comfort zone and show up anyway. You never know the magnitude and depth of the blessing waiting on you. May you choose to form positive connections and know that God will always have people around you to help you, educate you and even protect you from noise. May we never forget that God is good yesterday, today, tomorrow and forevermore. 💚🙏 Happy Saturday💚🙏 Posted November 2nd 2024 at 8:47pm
