You are a true master of this trade I have big respect for you from everything ive seen on your channel. Mad respect for not talking trash about the original “installer” even though you have the skill set and right to.

Definitely need to reinforce the tac strip on a stretch like this, I would even add a second row of tac strip to make it stronger.
@FloorsbySouthernboys

Definitely did some reinforcing, I believe I even put my own tax strip down and don’t think I used the previous tax strip

Yes , throw some extra nails or staples from your upholstery stapler! Then tri track or double strip all power walls! It will make it easier to hook up ,trim,and tuck! Seems like a waste of strip, but trust me, you'll love it! Good day!

Shocking seam! I assume you used the kool glide Ruben? How much stronger did it hold up, compared to the Heat seamer? And did you find it peaked less with that much tension?
@FloorsbySouthernboys
@FloorsbySouthernboys 2 жыл бұрын
Typically a lot of tension makes it peak But with the peak buster seem sealer gun that I use it 99% prevents peeking, and yes I did use the cool glide and if I had not I guarantee that same would have busted apart when I stretched that much on it, I stretched over two inches On the worst side of the room

If I was the homeowner I would have had him stop to,. Knowing that he could have probably done a better job himself 😂 Wow! If it looks that bad on camera I can only imagine what it looks like when you're there in person, that guy needs to go get a bunch of scrap and learn how to seam. Definitely one of the most important things you need to know how to do correctly,. You can get away with a lot of things but a seem like that is definitely not one of them, usually when they seem like that they're not too big on stretching either, making it a little easier to repair,. Everybody makes a bad seem every now and then but the thing is you don't leave it you do it over,. Nice job!

I was wondering about your van. How has it been since you had it? Has it given you any issues. Maybe you could make a video on it. I always have had the gmc vans but recently picked up an econonline and it drives so much nicer. Thanks, and great work like always! 👍

I've done plenty of that ruben but to me is easier to fold the carpet back reheat the seam slowly and retrimm as little as possible put it back together and restretch it
@FloorsbySouthernboys
@FloorsbySouthernboys 2 жыл бұрын
Are usually do that, however it was not row cut right the first time so it just kept getting wider and wider as I was running my row
@josepardo4650
@josepardo4650 2 жыл бұрын
Got it brother it seems what they did they forgot or didn't know about a straight edge and they overlapped the seam tha Carpe looks a little thick do they just shaved the fibers or maybe it was a customer trying to do by themselves but anyway we learn from the mistakes keep up the good work ruben
