Those escapes only came in the base model. They were cool 5 speeds but didn't sell well.

I have from new a 2 dr Chevy Blazer SUV w 5 sp ... it was a build order for me, had to wait 9 months for GM to build & deliver, but it was 1 of a kind, keeping it forever

Why do the cars rust so badly don't the cars for US market have rust prevention, well obviously they don't. You don't expect cars under 20 years old to be rust buckets.

This only happens in states that are in the rust belt. They use a lot of road salts in the winter. Cars that are in areas that don't see much snow and ice, won't have this problem.

Honestly, if we played our cards right, we could cheaply and efficiently make cars out of carbon fiber, I don't see so much of an issue with the weight difference as it wouldn't be astronomical, and it gives room address prioritizing the ability to perform maintenance on them
