The wispy bangs on Ro 😍😍😍 My pores have definitely become larger or more visible with time, probably because my t-zone also got oilier. I've noticed that the Matte Maniac mask really does mattify my skin and makes my pores appear smaller of course a good BHA exfoliant and a primer before foundation but nothing will ever make 'em look 100% better.

On the doctorly videos the two doctors recommended a Salicylic mask by the ordinary for clear skin. Also their Niacinamide serum. They also said your skin NEEDS some of that sebum as it helps protect your skin & keep it healthy. You sebum contains natural nutrients like Squalene that helps your skin, etc. Just exfoliate so you don’t get too much, as to get black heads. For a cleansing brush, I highly recommend the Clarisonic Brush as it can deep clean your pores & remove your makeup more thoroughly. Please watch the videos on KZbin by QVC for product explanation and Demos. I’ve been using it for over 12 years now usually with my Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy, & it’s improved my skin a lot.

Thanks for this. But I guess with age pores get bigger because the skin is less elastic and firm. So no matter what we use, it will happen anyways. Just like Rowena said, we just have to accept it. What kinda worked for me (oily skin) is zinc-based cleansers. I do notice a slight difference for the first time in my life. But nothing quite spectacular, really. Btw, even tho I haven't used make up at all during the covid times (thanks masks), It actually didn't make a huge difference on my skin health. I was hoping it would help big time with the pores but it didn't. I guess it's mainly a genetic issue :///

Hi, other than the purpose of retinol you have mentioned in the video, understand that retinol also has anti aging property. Would it be okay for someone younger to use it? Or it would be better to only start using it after a certain age? (25 years old and above?)

I love how informative this is! I need to do a bit more of a deep dive because I am allergic to BHA and AHAs, so I gotta go find a natural alternative. Could Beauty Within do an episode on natural products or natural alternatives?
@MartaRaya3 жыл бұрын
As a natural BHA alternative willow bark extract should work. In fact it is a natural BHA.
@tammystiletto3 жыл бұрын
You could start looking into retinol and the alternative is a plant derived retinol. The INKY List has some to look at. Retinol can be a good once a week treatment for turn over, some people work up to all the time but really take things easy and listen to your skin especially if it’s more sensitive than most.

The Ordinary salicylic acid 2% mask gives very good and fast results on my oily and acne prone skin, my pores look temporarily cleaner and smaller. I use it up to twice a week on my t-zone only, so I can make the product last for quite a bit. It's not suitable for sensitive skin though.

Do you realize the complexity of the skin? Oily skin, like any other, is a skin type, which means that no matter what you do, how many products you apply, how careful you are with you routine and your diet, how balanced are your hormones, how active you are, your skin will produce sebum and the characteristics of the skin will stay the same. Achieving “glass” and “poreless” skin is unreal and unattainable unless genetically you have those features... There are people that actually have a spotless face with no excessive sebum production naturally, some people don’t, and some people have dry skin, no matter what they do. So skincare helps, it can definitely help but it won’t change your genetic, it won’t change how your body is programmed to work...
