The “water wash only” in the morning really helped control the sebum on my really oily face and actually helped keep my skin hydrated. At first it was kinda off cause I am so used to washing the night oils off of my face for a “fresher” look but I just stuck to it until I’ve gotten used to the water wash. After maybe a month or so, I found out that even if I apply thick moisturizer on my face, it doesn’t get super duper uber oily anymore. Now, I just water wash every morning except on retinoid night cause I wash with a gentle cleanser the morning after . I am super scared of getting any retinoid irritation hence I follow all tips about retinoids. So far, on my 7th week now, no irritation at all. It dries a little bit so I just hydrate, hydrate and sunscreen!
@helenzhao222
@helenzhao222 3 жыл бұрын
that’s awesome! I’m wondering which form of retinoid are you using? and which product? I’m using Versed gentle retinol serum and it’s been great since it’s my first time trying any Vitamin A!
@christiepaguirigan7391
@christiepaguirigan7391 3 жыл бұрын
@@helenzhao222 I’m using Differin (Adapalene) Gel 0.1% hence the apprehension on irritation. It’s just 1 rank lower than the famous Tretinoin. When I ordered it, I thought it’s .01% 😅 I use a very tiny pea size amount only for the entire face and I “sandwich” it between a thin and thick moisturizer and avoids eyes and mouth areas. I layer my hydrating toners too before the thin moisturizer. Gentle cleanser -> hydrating toner -> green tea serum -> toner -> COSRX snail mucin moisturizer -> toner -> goggle eyes by Dr Sam Bunting (moisturizer around the eyes) and lip balm -> Differin on dry skin (damp skin makes penetration more intense) -> heavy moisturizer (ceramide) Morning after retinoid night: gentle cleanser -> toner -> green tea serum -> toner -> thin moisturizer -> sunscreen in layered application (currently using Missha Sun Milk Essence and Cosrx Aloe something sunscreen) Currently re-introducing Vit C on my non-retinoid days but not on the morning after retinoid night though. I found out that if I use Vit C on the morning after retinoid night, it irritates my skin.

For all the Purito deep sea water cream lovers out there: if like me you find it is a bit too light for you during winter, I found that adding two drops of face oil to it works wonder at making it a bit richer (I personally add squalane oil, it works great under my makeup!).

My skin suddenly turned into a dry, even cracked, desert scape after menopause. What helped me the most was consistently drowning my skin with multiple layers of hydrating toners, serum, then lock it in with a thick moisturizer. Pretty hydrated and dewy after months of this process, even after washing. or coming out of the pool

I had VERY oily acne ridden skin growing up and literally randomly (or from countless prescribed acne creams that are drying idk) with probably a big hormone shift, my skin now peels off in huge flakes & feels tight on daily basis even without using acne products for years. Totally a new ball game for me! My makeup doesn’t even stay on or makes me drier! Hopefully these tips will help! Thank you!

Anti aging ingredients: ascorbic acid + vitamin e + ferulic acid, chemical exfoliants (glycolic is the best for antiaging, but it can be irritating) ^sunscreen needed rosehip oil, seabuckthorn oil ^cold pressed; wrap in tinfoil; store in fridge sake (reads as rice ferment filtrate), rice, niacinamide, peptides, centella asiatica, green tea, ceramides + fatty acids + cholesterol + phytosphingosine, bamboo, etc

Tip/Fact: Eye creams are overpriced moisturizers put in smaller bottles!!! (you can compare ingredients side by side, they are literally the same except for maybe a couple components at the end of the list, but even those make up less then 1% of the product (look at the top 5 ingredients in the product and that will be the majority of your product)). All credit goes to Cassandra Bankson who is a lovely Medical Esthetician here on KZbin and breaks down the science of skin care to help consumers. This is the video that provides recommendations for various eye-skin related concerns (products that are actually worth it) as well as explain the marketing ploy of eyecream: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boe3f4mVi8SHbac&ab_channel=CassandraBankson If you wish to treat yourself to a eye mask, go for it! Skin care is self care!!! But PLEASE don't waste money on eye creams, save your bank accounts

@sleepychild9781

I don't think rosehip oil would be too heavy, as it is more of a dry oil. I would try it out and if it doesn't work it doesn't work. If you do decide to get it look for coldpressed, and you can wrap it in tinfoil to extend shelf life.
