Those corrupt fools were always there. Canada was always run as a colony, with an ultra wealthy minory elite (faithful to the colonizer) and a massive powerless blue-collar base. Things (very) temporarely changed in the 1950's, due to the rise of the middle-class. But today that middle-class is gutted. So today Canada is back to the old ways, although it was never a penal colony like Australia (worst case scenario). But old habits die hard !

That’s the difference between Canada and Germany (where I’m from): between all the things we are doing horribly wrong at the moment (like our catastrophic energy policy) you guys at least have someone to be proud of. The historic German role is to show the world how not to do things. And we take that role very seriously. Unfortunately.

I have a friend who is a Phd in Psychology. He was on a university board deciding the approval of doctorate degrees. He was outvoted on the board when he voted to deny a doctorate for a candidate who clearly did not complete the requirements. She did not do the work and did not complete her disertation. But she was, how shall I say this, the "politically correct" candidate that filled their quota. That's the state of the profession.

Psychology is not a science. It is an "art" and thus lends itself to much chicanery. Over the century, most of mental conditions and diseases have been identified with varying degrees of successful treatments. There was always a prime directive so to speak, a clear moral and ethical rule, the Hippocratic Oath to do no harm. This oath prohibits experimentation with permanent, irreversible physical alteration or damage based on some theory or political agenda! We are seeing a 21st century fad much like the lipotomy craze.

My experience in graduate school was that half the class was mentally ill and instead of getting therapy they went to graduate school to try to understand their own issues and became therapists. I found this to be true in seminary as well. I have two classmates from seminary serving prison time. One for murdering his wife and the other for rape (he was a youth pastor). I think its important to understand very disturbed people are drawn to professions where they have access to vulnerable people. Bottom line. Don't trust a person based on their chosen profession. What would happen if someone who had signed the Official Secrets Act decided to reveal a load of secrets online? Would you expect them to be arrested and charged? @@bengreen171 You say "of course not" like you're quite certain. Meanwhile the Supreme Court of the United States has struck down several aspects of the Espionage Act (the closest thing they had to an Official Secrets Act in the US) due to their infringement on the First Amendment. So no, a law or act created long after the fact actually should NOT infringe on your constitutionally granted rights and freedoms, because doing so diminishes the actual value those rights and freedoms even have in the first place. If all it takes to violate them is some random new law or act put in place by whatever government is in power at the time, then the constitution itself loses value and meaning.

I'm pretty much retired from it these days except for some very long-termers, mainly because I would be seriously canceled....(if not executed !!) My work has always been highly practical, involving meditation, breathing, diet, exercise etc and interestingly, over the years I have had as clients a good number of psychologists, including reputable clinical psychologists, along with various councelors and therapists. The point being that these ones are as screwed up as anyone else, often more, with a great deal of depression and some very bad life habits. Very hard to work with also because they 'already know everything' !! So many have become a part of the problem they are purporting to cure.

The issue I have with this is this effectively means that THAT professional organization is above the law if the judge will rubber-stamp anything the organization says regarding a person keeping their license. There should be SOME external review of their internal policies (especially if the LAW will not allow you to practice without the professional organizations say-so). THAT is what is most worrisome to any professional in Canada.

I'm a younger clinical psychologist in Virginia and can agree that the field has been ideologically captured by Neo-Marxist and postmodern thought and all the insidious consequences that come with it. I'm a conservative and have always had to keep my own personal views hidden; not just because I value privacy, but because psychology is a fundamentally hostile work environment for conservative thought. The field has certain areas that contain great science (IQ, The Big Five, other atheoretical models of personality, and certain research on CBT) but has a serious replication crisis and employs awful methodology, especially when it comes to anything regarding character traits, gender identity , among many other abstract constructs. The APA is also VERY ideologically corrupted by ideology and Neo-Marxist politics; the body has become increasingly unscientific and has significantly discredited itself. Dr. Peterson is a stalwart defender of those of us who value THE truth and scientific integrity within the field of psychology and a beacon for people everywhere looking for direction in their lives. I back him all the way!

Canada was founded as a colony, and wether you're a white lumberjack or a brown sikh in India, a colony is run the same way. 2% of robber barons extract the maximum wealth from the colony, to the benefit of themselves and the colonizer, while humiliating the local population there. The only exception was the 1950's, because the roaring middle-class forced the establishment to bargain. But today that middle-class is gutted, and things have reverted to the old ways.

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more - we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward." - Aleksandr I. I'm currently studying psychology (part time). I totally get the concern towards the field. There are some topics that slip by without requiring explanation or investigation, then some popular current topics require a "reflexivity statement". Also, there are those that thrive on the replication crisis mentioned in the video. Psychology, in terms of quantitative research works best with standardisation, which fosters objectivity. But qualitative research (interviews/ self reporting) is defined by its subjective outcomes, which is why psychology requires an integrative approach (both if necessary). The trouble is that this allows for cherry picking. And worse, some of these replicated studies begin with blatant biases from their very conception. I totally get matt walsh when he mentions his skepticism.

@hellabella8295. So, you automatically devalue what someone has to offer if they have spirituality based structures incorporated into their lifestyle? Sounds like you got it all figured out then, doesn’t it. I personally judge the value of the information, rather than base the value on the source. I guess I just don’t want to miss out. Cool thing is, I have never walked into a church in my life but I am not threatened by others living how they wish.

I am a conservative. I love the daily wire. I think it is terrible what Jordan Peterson is going through (He has been very influential in my life). I am also in school and going through clinicals as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I also agree CBT or other models of therapy (Structural, Strategic, EFT, Narrative, Solution Focused, ect.) are important when treating clients. However, the idea that "often times" people go to therapy because they want to talk about themselves is not based in fact. I regularly see couples on the brink of divorce trying to hold their lives and families together. I have seen families with traumatized children, and I have seen individuals who experience severe anxiety, depression, and loneliness making them physically unable to work or function regularly in society. Yes, they want to talk. They want to talk because their lives have reached a point where simply trying to deal with it on their own does not work anymore. Some people need help, and that help rarely involves "conversion therapy" or "gender affirming therapy." I love this channel and these hosts, but Therapy of the years has become less stigmatized. People who would need help, but otherwise would not get it are getting help now. I ask you DW, please do not cause a conservative relapse into seeing therapy as a place for crazy people.

“government chooses to be that invasive into private therapy […] that crosses ethical lines” What’s ironic is that Jordan Peterson is not even in clinical practice anymore. Yet his complainants claim that they were his clients. They were all not. They were basically just online trolls. And yet the College of Ontario still believed their baseless complaints and sided with them. Apparently, their governing body believes that any licensed professional that offends an online troll should have their licensed revoked. It sounds so ridiculous, but it is frighteningly true.

I am grateful for you Jordan. As a 30 year old man in the absence of my father (suicide) and grandfather (natural causes/cancer), both of which great men; I have struggled to tackle meaninglessness and complex traumatic stress from various parts of my life. I am deeply irked by what I have seen in culture since the noughties and have experienced an Orwellian dis-ease in workplaces and socially. This is outside of my closest friends obviously. I have been grateful to feel expressed and heard, through you, on many fronts and it is so appreciated for someone, like myself, who feels they must “play along or else” and “roll over” with my true beliefs and who really struggles sometimes in dealing with life as it unfolds as a bright young privileged straight man who is seeking to make his way in the world. I chose none of these aspects of myself though apparently I am supposed to feel guilty? You have helped me crack on and graft an approach to living with my inherited and intrinsic values to come through trials and low spots and salvage a meaningful existence from the jaws of nihilism. Thank you Jordan, I am really grateful to you for helping me to take responsibility for my life and find the willingness to lean into the harness by aspiring to something greater than myself.

When my grandson was 10 he was showing signs of OCD. My daughter didn't know about OCD, she just saw the bizarre behavior in him so she took him to a counselor after much prayer. The counselor helped Michael tremendously by teaching him to recognize the specific behavior that was taking him down the wrong mental path and how to compat the thoughts causing the bazaar behavior. Within a short time Michael's behavior had changed for the good. He is now in his late twenties and has not openly shown any symptoms of OCD since he was a child. God used the counselor to put him on a healthy path.
