Apparently the best cyclists in the world have one thing in common. They actually have larger hearts. Literally, their hearts are bigger than the average human. It allows them to have better cardio. Makes sense.
@RD19902010Ай бұрын
Could you elaborate? Training increases the heart size, so is it about the starting size? The max. possible size?
@AntiSociety100Ай бұрын
As with every endurance type of sports it is all a matter of how much oxygen you can take in and burn "per breath". Having a larger heart can help that because it can pump more blood around every shot. But it's just one of the parameters that make up a big oxygen transportation in the blood. Remco has a unique DNA, as said in the video he beat a 1st team professional at Anderlecht (best team of belgium at the time) when he was 15 with his performance tests. Kid is exceptional, and the way he acts is even more so given his talent.
@ULTRAINFINITEJUSTICEАй бұрын
@@RD19902010 bigger probably means more blood pumped through per pump so blood re oxygenates faster. it's why blood doping is so popular in the sport. just conjecture though.
@symptomofsoulsАй бұрын
I have a larger heart too. Doc says it's enlarged. Crazy how people are just born with potential like that
@MrVvulfАй бұрын
Secretariat, the horse that set records in the 1970s that still stand TODAY (50+ years later) had a heart that weighed 22lbs at his autopsy. Twice the normal size for a thoroughbred.

Great video. A couple of minor things: The statement about winning seven races holds true for pro level cycling, but not so much at U19 level, where I think most top tier pros have come in with a double-digit number of wins as U19s (I believe Jonas Vingegaard - one of Remco's two main rivals for winning Tour de France - might be the exception to that rule). I also think you understated the fact that he skipped racing at U23 level entirely, as he was the first rider to do so since 2006 (and the first rider ever since the World Tour formally became a thing), and he started the trend of the best U19's skipping U23 entirely.

Note aside Theate is the only solid defender we have now...But yes I was pissed not to see De Cuyper at the Euro for the sake of putting useless Debast !
@deandoesstuff3371Ай бұрын
Not really... De Winter is a starter at Genoa. Faes and Bornauw ( despite people not liking them ) are both starters at Leicester City and Wolfsburg respectively. Debast is now a starter at Sporting CP and had a great performance in the CL. He has alot to learn, but definitely has alot of talent. There's also Dams at PSV. And a few other promising defenders as well. Theate is probably our best defender at the moment, but definitely not the only solid one we have. Also, Debast and De Cuyper both play in different positions. So, weird comparison.
