PLEASE SUPPORT THIS VIDEO This isn't a reupload, it's an update with new content on a video that was unfairly taken down, only 3 days after being uploaded, by a media company abusing KZbin's copyright system. Many of you didn't get to see it and requested a reupload so, since this week I was out sick with a serious case of bacterial tonsilitis and couldn't get the planned video out in time, I updated this one instead and got rid of anything they could copyright claim. If you're wondering, the best way to support the video is to watch it till the end, the average view duration means a lot to the youtube algorithm. @@paulie-g On a "serious note" we can, or at least should, be able to be reasonably surprised by somebody presenting themselves as football journalist and producing football documentaries for a living, not doing the research necessary to meet the minimum standards of credibility for their chosen profession. Disagree. He did well enough in Coventry to play in PL, he just got a better deal in Sporting. In the right team there's zero reasons why he couldn't score in the PL.
@00Resev2 ай бұрын
He is not unstoppable, but he's difficult to contain, as he's the sort of player whom the adversaries run the risk of injuring themselves to stop him, because if he can't go around you.....he will go "trough" you.... That alone would make him a menace, but its only the beginning of the story. He is tall, strong, fast, and a lot more agile than his size would make you believe, but most of all, he is relentless. He will go at it again and again. He's a late bloomer, but he's all grown up now, and in his prime, so pay attention, as you will hear a lot about this player over the next few years.
@lol50edu932 ай бұрын
thats the thing, everytime he has faced a defender who isnt trying to beat him in strenght he gets completly lost, you can see it everytime sporting played benfica and he went up against antonio silva or even in his mos recent match against psv, at the same time like in the video one of his best matches was against pepe who was trying to "bully" him like he does with every attacker but couldnt, thats why the second time they faced each other (portugal vs sweden if im not mistaken) he didnt really manage to get past pepe who learned from his first mistake, every goal he got against benfica was because otamendi tried the same thing as pepe, trying to stop him by force when the best thing you can do against him while quite the opposite many would think is to give him space
@redshift862 ай бұрын
Late bloomer or was not given a chance early enough?
@00Resev2 ай бұрын
He had plenty of chances, he just never stood out enough to be noticed by the top scouts until he reached 25, which is late for most players. You don't just go into the Premier League, and not have the eyes of the world upon you. BUT once in the Premier League, it becomes difficult to get players out, as they become priced out of the market, and out of reach for most leagues outside the big 5, unless they are a dud, or getting old. Well, the Premier League didn't know what to do with Gyokeres. He wasn't a dud, but never shown himself to have the potential to be exceptional, until that one magical point in time, where everyone was starting to take notice, but not being assertive enough to go ahead with a signing. Sporting took a gamble, and it payed off immensely, but i very much doubt they will be able to keep him on the team in the next transfer window. I'm surprised they even managed to keep him on the previous one. Ultimately, Gyokeres has shown himself to have become a great player, even if took him a heck of a long time to be seen as such, and even if he's doing great at Sporting, put him on a team with even better players supporting him, and he will shine the brightest.

In one of last season's matches against Benfica (don't remember exactly which), we did the same as Porto and had António Silva man mark him the whole game. He did a good job slowing him down enough, getting several tackles and interceptions in. As soon as he got free and faced Otamendi instead of António... Well why didn't you buy him for 20mil like we did last summer? It's embarrassing how lame your clubs are. He literally played div 2 in England got to the play off final and no one was interested. And spunking money on donkeys. Força Sporting

@Sersang-wx7yy2 ай бұрын
@@LovelyCamel-vr5zj to be fair I respect sporting for scouting his potential. It’s true that prem teams overlooked his talent , and now every team apart from city is salivating for a top striker. I personally think Gyokeres is top. Worth 100m? I don’t know. But I definitely think he’s worth 80mil +. I don’t really think we need a striker this season. But we would be fools to not recognise this talent , while he is still available. You have a gem on your hands lad.

First time I've heard of him. But wow. As an Arsenal supporter - sign him. If he's dominating the Portuguese league to such an extent he is worth a shot. And we need a striker.

Gyökeres is wonderful to watch, but Sweden is one of the most terrible national teams right now (have been so for quite some time) and there seems not to be any hope for improvement either. It doesn’t help when 3 footballers (Isak, Gyökeres and Kulu) do a great job when the rest (incl the coach) is not. /another Swede

As a Coventry fan, I couldn’t believe no top flight english clubs came in for him. If it wasn’t for a missed penalty he would might still be at Coventry now and playing in the Premier League, along with Gustavo Hamer. We can’t replace that quality

IF Brommapojkarna is very underrated as a "talent factory". So many swedish top players spent more or less time there in their youth. Either they get their breakthroughs there, or they get picked up by bigger teams, usually the other Stockholm teams like AIK, Djurgården & Hammarby.

Tbh when he was at coventry i didnt paid attention, neither did i knew him i watched 1 much and that was by accident but his eyes were stone cold and i remember thinking that this guy would be dominant in a big club before see him actually perform, im always considering any player good in the right place, even the biggest flops/memes can do wonders in the right environment in my opinion because all of them have the same tools (2 legs). I got intimidated by his eyes and i was thinking it for a while but still didnt paid attention. After joining Sporting i remembered that but still couldnt expect that much, this guy have an aura, perform or not he is terrifying and now that he made clear to everyone that he CAN perform he is the fkn boogeyman

It could have been worth mentioning the fact that Brommapojkarna is one of europe's most prolific youth side. Both in numbers and quality. A lot of the swedish national team started their career in their youth teams.

I'm absolutely amazed that people think a played needs to "break out" in their early 20's or they are a bust... That's not how it has worked ever in the sport. Even if you ignore his untimely injury that set him back, some players just takes a few more years to develop.
