Bendtner was one of the most naturally talented strikers we've had in Denmark since the turn of the century. He was actually quite good at the national team and the fact that Juventus, Werder Bremen and Arsenal had him on their books is a testament to that. Had he not been so reckless and big mouthed, his career would have been far greater. As a Rosenborg fan I enjoyed having him at our club even though it was really weird for us having a player that is essentially bigger than the club at least in reputation. To me (and to those I've heard from around the club) all said he was a nice guy that was simply shaped by having had so much attention his whole career but that he fit in well. He also did really well in his first season and created some spectacular moments that I'll remember for a long time. Our plan when we signed him was to get him performing at a level where he would be called up to the national team, play in the WC and sell him for lots of money. That plan was soooo close to being realized, but we and him got unlucky with the injury.

Fun video! In Denmark our speeding tickets are not a percentage of our income, it's a value predetermined by your speed. Bendtner was stopped in Norway, where the ticket is a percentage of your yearly wage. Everything else is pretty much on point. Here this story: We played Pro Evolution Soccer in season/career mode the year this guy was 20 or something like that. We bought him in the game and started playing him. After 2-3 seasons of growth in the game he became absolutely insane. We were struggling at the time to win seasons in hard mode and we had never won a champions league in the game. He was'nt the GOAT, but his pure natural talent was through the roof. From what i've gathered his dad was'nt the best influence on him to say the least. When i think of Bendtner i don't see a grown man that makes bad lifechoices, I see a big kid who was'nt raised right, Bendtner needed good consistent rolemodels in his life. If he had adapted a driven/professionel mindset he could have been one of the greatest goalscorers of his generation, he had that much god given talent!
