Mexico has had great players in almost every position, the fact that the main national team hasn't won a world cup comes down to corruption in the National Federation. The talent is there, hence the U-17 team has already won two world cups (and a runner up, only losing to the Nigerian cheats that we all know are actually a lot older than 17, so in my book they are actually 3 world cups). If it wasn't for the national federation, the main team would at least have one world title already.

U-17 is like college you can do very well in it, but it when it comes to going up against the pros it’s a different story, sure you could blame corruption for Mexico’s downfall, but in reality they just don’t know how to play the game great for not going up against harder opposition most of the time, Mexico’s record against World Cup champions is 28 wins 42 draws 77 losses.

Underrated just like Julio César Chávez in boxing (he exposed his title more than many rated “better than him”). His mobility and flair was out of this world. He played una very hostile environment, he was under too much pressure from journalist in Spain and Mexico and still performed. He was a master shorting over and sometimes next to barriers. Have you seen the images? The ball curved horizontally and vertically with power, speed and incredible location. If not, ask Andoni Zubizarreta. He made the goalies just stand there and watch how the ball travelled and landed in one of the corners. For me, the partnership he made with Emilio Butragueño and Bernd Schuster was a killer combination. Those passes were not easy to hit so don’t imply he only pushed the ball to the goal, because he didn’t. He finished the play with skill in a time and place he created and in angles and situations that you rarely see.

Like lozano in his first season in Napoli was decent but he didn’t get much play time. Now every time he’s on the pitch it’s a different game. Wolves without Jimenez is complete different as we saw when he got Injuried for a whole season,Man United was insane with chicharito at the front,Herrera at Porto and atlético can be a master at playing the ball, corona for Porto was played on the league last season, alverez at Ajax has helps them in the back ans even in one of his first games scored to help them qualify for the UCL. Mexican players need more Recognition and justice. (If only we can be good In a World Cup)

Hey thanks for the video you did an amazing job, the only thing that I didn't notice, was if you mentioned his acrobatic overhead kicks he did alot, which would increase his flair. And I appreciate how you clarified his positioning, agility, reaction which allows him to score even though he was small would like stretch himself beat bigger opponents. I Only hate that fifa does not have a prime icon version because those stats just mentioned and others are no where near the level they should be, still underrated by fifa so frustrating.

On an interview he tells the people calles him Indio, and he cried for that, him's is an inspiring history. When I was a kid I use to watch by tv on saturdays his games, wating to see his celebración after scoring. I think he was the best on his position all around the world a couple of years.

Hungol Sanchez scored just one (penalty kick) goal in 2 world cups, he did little or nothing for the Mexican National team. Hungol Sanchez was part of the national team that failed to qualify to the 1982 world cup when needing a win to go through, were eliminated by Honduras. The 0-0 tie between Mexico and Honduras qualified El Salvador. Honduras and El Salvador went to the 1982 world cup and they were an embarrassment to the CONCACAF. El Salvador got beaten badly by Hungry 12-0. ...And those my friends are the facts.

Man I wish I could’ve watched Hugo Sanchez play. I probably would’ve been a Real Madrid fan but I grew up watching Rafita Marquez (who idk but I think you should do a story of) and that’s why I’m a huuuuge Barca fan but Hugo Sanchez was crazy and I love it

I am Mexican and I am very proud for having such an extraordinary striker like Hugo Sánchez 🇲🇽💪🏻👌🏻 He might be arrogant or selfish, but there is no other Mexican striker that can even be compared with him. Probably, his strong mentality was the key for his success, something like Cristiano Ronaldo (both share many characteristics in terms of mentality). It’s really amazing to see something about Hugo Sánchez in English and I am pointing this out because many people in Mexico 🇲🇽 don’t appreciate what he was as a soccer player. He has defects like everyone but he is surely the best soccer player in Mexico’s 🇲🇽 history 💪🏻🙌🏻👌🏻! Great video 👌🏻 and I think he should rank 80/100

Concuerdo contigo, no me gusta su actitud arrogante, pero creo que esa actitud lo llevo hasta donde quiso y se consagró como leyenda Mexicana.

This guy is the best player in futbol but ofcourse ppl dont want to acknowledge him simply bc of prejudice. He never had to brag... his actions speak louder than word but doesnt matter bc ppl still turn the blind eye. Only the real recognize.

Hugo Sanchez has better stats than many striker icons. But doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for being Mexican.

I remember seeing the futbol international magazines back in the day. He had sime great nicknames . El Macho, El Niño de Oro, Señor Gol, Hugol, Monsignor TNT, and even Pelé called him, Espectaculo. Truly one of the sports ultimate legendary players. Hugo Sanchez, the best striker in FIFA history. 😮⚽ 🌏
