Dramatic moment castaway sailor and his dog were found after 3 months lost at sea

This is the moment an Australian sailor was rescued by a Mexican tuna boat after being adrift at sea with his dog Bella for three months. Timothy Lyndsay Shaddock was stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean after setting off from La Paz in Mexico bound for French Polynesia. He says he became stranded after a storm knocked out electronics to his catamaran.

Yeah and he dumped her,after being rescued. Bella is now with the tuna boat crew that rescued them. Dogs are loyal,humans aren't.

@@mariarey7534 In that case, she's better off living with people who care. Poor little soul that has to be messed about like that. I always say: if you're not loyal, courageous, open hearted, loving, sensitive, and intelligent - don't get a dog because you won't measure up. They've been put on this earth to remind us what it actually means to be a human being. Dogs give us everything. The very least we can do is love them. Shame on that guy for putting her through this and then abandoning her. She deserves a better life.

My lifestyle isn’t conducive to dog ownership either and if one stowaway dog kept me company for months I would be appreciative but never would I reorganize the way I live my life and the freedom I have not owning a pet. Bella is owed nothing. She is a dog who followed him around for love and food- she just so happened to be able to pay him off with her company in the end.

Giving the dog way too much credit. The guy would have been better fed without the dog with him. No one would have blamed the man if he eventually had to kill Bella to eat her. That’s the human will to live.

there's been talk on tv down here in Australia that he wasn't really lost he was talking to his sister on some sort of phone every now and then and the guy who built the boat says it was still sailable just needed a sheet or something thats what they have been saying

I agree, as a merchant seaman there was a burnt hulk of a Indonesian ship tied to the dock near my ship in Honolulu Hawaii.The newspapers were full of stories about uscg leaving dogs onboard while rescuing crew. There were 4 human bodies still in corners of the engine room . Not a word about them. Made me sick.
