Hey Charlie, fun fact, for 2024, this has the latest MBUX, so it’s not the older version, it’s just laid out better than the eq models. Also, I don’t know if it was just me, but I noticed on the highway portion, when you were accelerating, that turbo noise is extremely present, almost overpowering

They introduced similar electrified turbo stuff and the mild hybrid system that was introduced in the new C-Class and it really picks up alot of turbo whistle due to it, its pretty neat

Because of my dotage I’m approaching the last vehicle I’ll purchase with some trepidation. I’m returning the last in a long line of E series which I used in my career save the AMG I had in my youth. Your wizenedly profound enlightenment at 20:30 impacted me and lightened my decision making process.

Great video. Really appreciate hearing Matt’s feedback. We had a new 2011 gl450 when we had twins. Of all the cars we’ve owned, it was our 2nd least favorite vehicle. As a family vehicle, it sucked, especially for its size - lack of space and storage. We were so much happier to replace it w a minivan. Also, for the price, the 1st gen wasn’t particularly luxurious. The tire noise was intrusive. Overall we felt it wasn’t worth the money. The current gen seems much nicer and with everything being so expensive nowadays, $93k doesn’t seem too bad.

With the issue of the screen being too far away, I’ve always just used the trackpads on the steering wheel. That way you don’t really need to take your hands off the wheel.

I have yet to see a built-in wireless charger in a new car that actually works. Even if your car has wireless carplay, you're better off just using a cable to charge.

Most wireless chargers, do a fantastic job of warming up your iPhone, but not charging it that way when you pick it up it’s not icy cold
