This is a brilliant documentary into the lives of yorubas in Kano. As a 3rd generation member of a yoruba family in Kano, my family remains indebted to the people of Kano for hosting us through seven decades. Many of my uncles and cousins have married Kano hausas. Kano is my home and I miss this city. Now that I am abroad, i find it very comfortable to relate with members of the hausa communities from Nigeria, Niger and Ghana because of my upbringing in Kano. Thank you Kanawa. Masu gudu su gudu😂 Masu

Why is it that Hausa people live in clusters in areas called Sabo in Yoruba lands? Why do they have their own mosques in Yoruba lands and never pray with other Muslims? They are better than the Fulanis though because the Fulanis don’t live in town; they live in the bush across the southwest.

I was born and raised in Kaduna, and I’ve observed that there are several mosques frequented by Yoruba people, even though you might find a few Hausa individuals among the congregation. These Hausa attendees are there primarily for prayers, as the sermons are delivered in Yoruba. In the area of Nariya, under Igabi LGA in Kaduna, the large Yoruba community might make you feel like you're in the southwestern part of Nigeria rather than the north. It seems that people often find comfort in being around those who share their language and culture. While this might appear as segregation, it’s a natural tendency to feel at ease among those who have similar backgrounds. Ultimately, we all shop in the same markets, use the same roads, and live our daily lives intertwined despite these cultural differences.
