Dainese How to: D-AIR MISANO 1000

The D-AIR MISANO 1000 by Dainese is the first stand-alone airbag leather jacket for road use, meaning it doesn't need any sensor or connection to the bike to deploy in case of a dangerous situation. I bought the Dainese Air Misano in April 2017. The electronics department said goodbye after two weeks. Dainese has returned the jacket four times not working. Currently we have at the end of October 2017, that is, more than half a year later and Dainese does not seem to be able to solve this problem. I warn all motorcyclists with the D-Air Misano 2017 that this system is suspected to work very unreliably. In the meantime I was offered another system. It is a pity that this took six months.

so if I´m driving down the highway and one of the sudden it starts raining, the connection with GPS satellite will be lost, the suit will become wet, does it mean that the system won´t work properly? I would like to buy that jacket, but now I am not sure enough that I want it...

wow! no gps = no protection!? would like to see more reliability than that also: on/off flap? what if I forget to close it, what if I want some extra air on my chest during summer? what if it accidentally comes undone? no protection?!

Deutsch: Warum, warum, warum hat der misano 1000 (= Straße) nicht auch den airbag über die Schulter? So wie der "racing"? Ich hatte zwei Unfälle, 1x auf der Rennstrecke 100kmh, 1x normale Straße 80kmh und in beiden Fällen bin ich durch wegrutschendes Rad direkt auf die Schulter gefallen. Beides Mal Schlüsselbein gebrochen. Auch eine air-Weste oder der Misano 1000 hätten dies nicht verhindert. Alle Air-Überzieh-Westen haben die Schulter frei liegen. Warum gibt es keine Lederkombi (Zweiteiler) mit airbag Schulterschutz? English: Why, why, why does the misano 1000 (= road) not have the airbag over your shoulder? Like the "racing"? I had two accidents, 1x on the racetrack 100kmh, 1x normal road 80kmh and in both cases I fell directly on my shoulder due to a slipping wheel. Both times clavicle broken. Even an air vest or the Misano 1000 would not have prevented this. All air-overcoats have their shoulders free. Why is there no leather suit (two-piece) with airbag shoulder protection?

if know this was on the market, i wouldve bougth one, week ago i was in an accident, shoulder broke and this would prevented this. wow. i want one

Will this help you if your stopped at a light and get hit by a car? I want one because I love your gear but that's important. Also when will it be available in USA?

Chris B It will for 5 second after you drive under the 10km/h line. At least that what they say about their race suits

Meine D-Air Misano ist nach zwei Wochen defekt gewesen. Seit sechs Monaten wird die Jacke stets immer noch defekt immer wieder zurückgesendet. Seit sechs Monaten keine faire Lösung von Dainese. Das bekommt man für ~2000€. My D-Air Misano was broken after two weeks. For six months now, the jacket is still defective and is sent back again and again. No fair solution from Dainese for six months. That's what you get for ~2000€.
