I feel the music video shines light on the song being about a chaste priest's conflicting desire for intimacy, the "sweet candy," and his position as a church leader. The priest feels trapped in celibacy, only marrying others and not being married himself, remembering his promise to not indulge in intimate desires but hunting for "candy" nonetheless. The old lady with the cocktail is a strange temptation but the angels on his shoulder only sing to his desires as well. His hands become bloody after indulging and his innocence/identity is lost as his pure white teeth now run tar black. We finally witness the former priest wildly driving away from the imprisoned web the church was.

I gotta give these dudes props, usually when people try to do a take on 80’s it sounds retro and not authentic. Not a big fan of retro. This on the other hand can legitimately pass as an unheard 80’s song. This is how 80’s imitated music should sound. If you’re going out of your way to sound of the era do it properly.
