Caught a 12lbs Blue cat the first time I took it out. Biggest fish I ever caught. Had a 20lbs Barkley trilene mono line, and size 1 hook leader. That was 3 weeks ago. Little guy puts in work. Most expensive reel I ever owned as well. I payed $80. I wish it was cheaper but it’s worth the money. This guy got it for a steal. I run out of line often when I cast with 20lbs line so unless you don’t intend on casting far this is an awesome pick up. If you like to cast far go for a 2500 or up. If your going for a small set up, the Diawa exceder 1000d Lt is great.

I bought the 6000 , 4000 , and a 3000 Exceler reels they do ok i have used them and they cast well and are smooth on a rod just do not put heavy lines on them you do not need to 5 - 10 lb line is enough , they are a good build and will have no problem bringing in bigger fish also .

Yo spinning reels arent there to open the hanger and just reel it back, u gotta close it by hand, otherwise it wont take long before she breaks

Been fishing since i was a wee little shytte... I'm 48 now and never wore a reel out from flipping the handle to snap the bail except back in the 80s with some cheap stuff that had cheap bail springs etc. and those were $1.25 to replace. Does it wear the gears? Yes, it absolutely does but you can pummel any quality ($50+) spin reel for 3-5 years before noticing it's getting worn in... and it'll go longer then that so don't worry about it.. Use your reel as you wish, you're only going to break it when you fall off a cliff and smash the spool and then you just hand line the fish in, go to the E.R. and replace the rod and reel you just broke... lol

Dalton fishing Tatula is a much better reel but cost twice as much. I like the Tatula better

The Tatula goes for over $200USD while the exceler goes for about $70-80 USD (6-20-2020)

so I picked up a stradic ci4.... it was a splurge because I bought a pflueger president xt and hated it. so since i have other stradics I decided to go with what makes me happy. but i was at bass pro and I felt one of these and was very surprised and instantly questioned whether or not I should have splurged so much. I bought the shimano brand new private sale so I can't return it. should I go through the hassle of selling it to pick up one of these or just enjoy what i got.

Kyle Paul I think you should keep the stradic because that is also a joy to use. Pick this one up as well because you can get one on eBay for around $50. My friends keeps on taking mind once they know how this reel feels so I have to replace it every six months. Lol... my collection is not complete once they take it.
