These are great reels

this reel looks like the drag can be accessed from the outside as well as opening the reel up.
@2ndChanceTackle2 жыл бұрын
I can not. Only the tension washers can clear the hole in the side case.

@@2ndChanceTackle thanks, just curious, mine will get the whole 9 yards like you did

Great video. I’m not a fan of the thick washers. They work well but an option for drag washers if you want HT-100/carbontex is double up on Penn 115 drag washers (9/0) in between the metals. It will become the same thickness and personally I feel is a smoother and better drag for fighting fish. The other option for the hard washer under the main gear is actually a 50H drag washer. It fits perfectly under the gear. One thing i don’t know if u mentioned either is the yoke has a groove on the side where the eccentric jack goes up and down. You mentioned something, but wasn’t sure if that’s what you meant.

Thanks for the additional information and tip on doubling the washers. Best wishes - Dennis

Great job Dennis. I bet this reel could handle a sea monster! -Chris pS. I did not get that Quantum reel. I didn’t even want it for free!
@2ndChanceTackle2 жыл бұрын
It could and the 900H I have can pull up Davey Jones locker!. On the quantum, your time is probably worth spending elsewhere - Thanks Chris. Be well
@christopherjenkins23732 жыл бұрын
@@2ndChanceTackle I agree on the Quantum. I got an Optix 60 and paid only about $10 just to see one and service it. All the bearings were frozen on it. I used PB Blaster and got them back in decent shape but in general I hate that reel - No ARE override. It just a cheap reel with a plastic case and ever metal piece in it will rust. I really liked that video on that huge conventional reel. I’ll bet you could tow a boat with your 900H! I like those reels a lot.

How bizarre, I was looking at a reel , saw the time and knew your video should be on, it is. The reel I was looking at is a Daiwa Sealine 600H, I was taking a look at the "power" handle

How unusual, mine needs a drag washer service, too
@seymourwrasse33212 жыл бұрын
I'll try to reuse the original washers if not replace with carbontex

Aluminum frame and side panels, Not graphite.

You are correct. Thanks you. I get these reels confused with the the Penn GS series - Dennis
