The little hook on split ring pliers lets you pull the leader through in much the same way. You can get nice and cheap little stainless split ring tweezers if you don’t already have pliers.

Great theory though the pliers will scar the leader , The Daiwa tool has no scuff and is more like a crochet hook,

I must be doing something wrong. I’m either grabbing it in the wrong spot or I got the wrong size lines for the tool (20lb braid to 10lb fluorocarbon). When I go to pull the hooked line back through the loop, the leader sliding through the tools hook curls my leader like I’m curling Christmas ribbons for a present.

I do alot of shit (I guess) that pisses off the supposed all knowing. Just read some of the comments on this subject. But the real is I know more than them, I live it every day and it's my 100% lifestyle.. Because I open my eyes to all things fishing. As in the Sokkou tool to Chinese reels. It's called FUN. I like gadgets!

Not super strong. its a light line knot. That the tool just makes faster. It's been tied a long time w/out any tool.

The knot tool was actually come up by light line users in japan, who use 10 lb. test or less in freshwater, its not any special knot, just a super fast way of doing it. The japanese are Gadget people. I have videos of hacking this expensive tool with a $3.00 walmart carpet making hook tool. Believe the link is in comments or that darn video description that nobody on phones ever reads
