I picked one of these up along with a Steez SV AGS reel to pair with it. I haven't got it on the water as my lakes are just thawing now and I haven't got out the kayaks yet, but I think I'm really going to like this rod. I took the sleeve off and could feel absolutely everything. It's heavier, but it balances perfectly too which is far important to me than being light for things like jigs (and soft plastics too). Fit and finish is great as well. Hopefully I don't have any issues with the guides breaking. In fact, I believe it was you helped me get an idea of what to expect for power and action from this rod before I bought it.

Just received my Steez Bottom Contact. I like it better than the NRX 894. Nice review.

After getting to actually use mine a bit, this rod is absolutely perfect. I almost always have a jig tied on, but next week I'll be fishing clear water so I may use a C-Rig. The power and action is absolutely perfect and you feel everything.

Warranty with diawa is usually pretty smooth with replacing broken rods.

I wish they have a 2 piece version since I drive a car and would not be able to carry this with me.

Would this rod be ideal for 3/4 oz. Carolina rigs? Thanks for the review.

3/4oz would exceed the weight limit technically, but it can a 3/4oz C-Rig or jig.
