Are you getting away from Shimano? A lot of your older videos turned me on to Shimano and now I have a fleet of dependable Japanese made Shimano reels that I've never had an issue with. Hope your fix holds up, glad to see you making vids again.

Happens to a couple of Z200 H's I service regularly... Pain in the ass every time it happens!

Not a fluke Sonny. Although I haven't read anything about it on forums and such, I actually had the same failure on my Ballistic T3 not once, but twice. I think in my case though it was something else causing the failure to the spool inductor assembly because I had a brand new spool sent to me from Daiwa and that one failed in the same way in a matter of a month. Again....weird in that I haven't really heard about it otherwise, but I know exactly what your talking about.

huh.. i haven't had this issue with my tatula type r yet. crossing my fingers. hopefully daiwa will take care of it if i do. i'm always paranoid to do any reel repairs to my casting reels haha. good video though man.

Super common. Every daiwa I have owned this has happened to. I use shimano now 😁

I have had a tatula for a while and no problems probably just a lemon.

I seriously hope this is not a major design fault. I have never owned a Daiwa in my life and am considering to give it a go with the Tatula spurred by one of my Calcuttas being down. Now, I am wondering whether I should just go with a Shimano Ocea Calcutta (JDM) instead of the Tatula. Or may be just go with the base Tatula and see how it goes since is only $150.

Any updates on the brakes? Also, have you guys heard of the "scoring" of the tws level? I bought a 3 tatulas before I read about it. I hope it's not true.

It was just a fluke i my baitcast arsenal is only tatulas type r, bought them a week after release no issues. Dont give up on Daiwa.

Not sure if you will see this comment, but how is the glue holding up? I just had this happen to one of my 2 Tatula ct''s, and I was going to contact Daiwa, but if the glue is still holding, I'll probably just do what you did. I'm sure that plastic collar is glued from the factory anyway (although I could be wrong).

that really sucks! sorry man but this just puts another nail in daiwa for me. you pay all that money and something as silly as that happens . but on the other hand i do hear great things about them, so i may be scared to try them and like them because i cant afford to like them lol. good luck with the fix man.

im quitting baitcasters for as much as i can, im trying to switch to spinning because it's just too much money and maintenance. my bait casting reels last a 5th of the time my spinning reels do
