It's just over 10 years later... And Finesse Craws are so prevalent to common anglers now that... That bait would be considered full size and power fishing vs finesse. Fish is still a stud.

they sell line keepers at many sporting goods stores or Amazon there elastic with a small rivet with a hole in it they work fine and you can regulsate the tension on the spool.

Hi sir! Love this rod. I use my heavy/fast frog rod for saltwater / pier fishing, because it's so light and I'm a little guy (5-8). I wanted something light, with lots of power so I could use 60-65 lb braided line with a Shimano TLD reel. It works great, just have to clean it really well after use in SW. I love this frog rod for saltwater angling!

I gather these are some powerful frog rods! It seems that either the Tatula Frog rod or the Irod Genesis II Fred's Magic Stick is the way to go for getting them out of the thick slop. Curious how it would do with a 1/2oz or 3/4oz jig -- granted, I have the newer gen jig rod (the microguides are fine for up to at least 80lb braid easily but don't run a leader), but there might be times I only bring one rod. If I'm walking a frog in open water, the jig rod does nicely but will it work the other way? How did this hold up for you? I'm going to take a wild guess and say you didn't break it.

I just started using a baitcaster, in case anyone didn't know... if you use braided line, use mono or flourocarbon backer. I didn't know that and thought my drag clutches were smoked but 125ish yards of line were slipping on the spool...
@TeamRippnLipz15 жыл бұрын
slowstang88 I only use mono as backing because it’s so cheap I get a big spool of 10lb at Walmart for like $2.30 ish I only use fluorocarbon if I don’t have mono. Mono is Easier

@@TeamRippnLipz1 The 2nd time I respooled my Abu Garcia Revo4 X-HS-L with 40lb Power pro braid it was slipping, I took the side cover off and cleaned the clutches. Still slipping so I called Abu and they ran down a long list of things to check, the last of which was line type and check for slippage. They were very thorough and professional

Thanks for the info, down here in Georgia they love dark colors for the most part but swim jigs is where it’s at! I believe the bass love them bc they’re settle but have lots of action. Sometimes all those vibrations and rattles scares em off.

I have a question. I have a daiwa tatula like yours and it keeps popping out of cast mode and starts a grinding noise. Have you ever had this problem with a reel? What causes it and how to fix it?
@TeamRippnLipz15 жыл бұрын
E * Yes I have. How long have you had it? Also has it ever been opened?
@DetroitFishigan5 жыл бұрын
@@TeamRippnLipz1 thanks for the quick response. I've had it for 3 years now. I've sent it back to daiwa twice to fix the issue and I've talked to a tech that was working on it the second time I sent it back, He said he fixed the spring in the thumb button. But it didn't fix my problem.
@TeamRippnLipz15 жыл бұрын
E * Ok are you 100% sure you are not hitting the reel handle as you cast? If you are not hitting that there’s a cam plate inside the reel I bet it’s bad
@DetroitFishigan5 жыл бұрын
@@TeamRippnLipz1 yeah I'm 💯 that I don't hit it. yeah I cast it hard and it pops. That's why the the tech thought it was the spring in the thumb button that wasn't staying down when casting hard. how can I get a replacement for it, Or is it a loss? Just that reel does that. I've got a Lew's lfs tournament series and the concept z and the new quantum tour s3 PT there good 👍 just the daiwa reel does that sh**.
