I thought this years Dakar TV coverage was fantastic but, as ever, Harry has knocked this out of the park with brilliant behind the scenes footage along with amazing chats with the teams involved…. Top notch!!

Anyone who has rode a motorcycle off road can fully appreciate the skill and confidence of those bikers riding in those conditions at that speed while also navigating for hours on end day after day , its truly amazing.

Those bikes squirrelling at full chat! Madness. It takes a certain lack of a sense of self preservation to do that.

Two takeaways from this incredible video: 1. Toyota deserved far more credit than they received for the generous invitation and unbelievable access. More brand plugging would have been totally justified and appropriate. 2. The Mohican should have been bright red.

Great video Harry & Team, as a lifelong motorsport fan, the #dakar is towards the top of my list of events and as an expat South African it is fantastic to see and hear those amazing Toyota's that are designed and build by the South Africans at Glyn Hall Racing (#hallspeed) always towards the top of the leaderboard. I am old enough to remember Giniel de Villers racing in saloon cars at Killarney in Cape Town! Thanks Harry for the brief look behind the scenes, much appreciated.

Great video! Thank you Harry. I may have said it already, but I am so greatful that you don't put any muzak in these videos. So many times I hear ytbers say "just listen to this engine sound" and dump some shitty tune in the mix "to spice it up". Big THANK YOU for letting us hear the engines!

Huge respect for the bike riders at every level. What an achievement completing the event is let alone racing it. Let's take a minute to also appreciate that Toyota win the standard class (every year!) with stock Land Cruisers - certainly built tough.

The track looks like Mongolia / just sand and gravel. I did the Mongol Rally in 2008 with a standard Nissan Micra, we drove at 40 km/h as then the supension could cope / doing 60 km/h meant constant little breakdowns - bolts coming undone etc. After four days in Mongolia we reached Ulan Batar and the suspension was completely destroyed as the bushings had perished. We had 5 puntures in Mongolia and only 4 xtra tyres. Team The Lost Vikings (from Norway). Quite an adventure through 21 countries in 5 weeks and 18000 km.

Well Harry, I didn't think I was going to watch all of this video, but it was fantastic. You really cannot get a sense of how fast they are going without being there, but dear God they are brave or daft depending on how brave we are! The 'Ultimate' class doesn't make sense to what we drive, but the historic's are a true wonder. Getting across London for many 40 year old.cars is an adventure, but this....!
