@@ethanjohnson3642 yeah this is honestly just the most complicated way possible to get the same effect as Black Panther Zola lol. I think Daken will be strong, but mostly as just a good 3/8 typically, 3/12 sometimes in surfer. The ‘downside’ of playing shard/other cards to destroy Shard isn’t much of a downside since you’re still reducing Death, or buffing carnage, etc. People are gonna wanna get fancy with Daken, but it’s really not necessary to make him solid.

Calling it now: Morbius into Daken into Absorbing Man into Modok is going to be a combo in a ton of discard decks for these next few weeks. Even if you pull AM late on Turn 6 you could even do double Modok play into Swarm to get your Morbius even larger.

Maybe but if I’m playing discard my turn 4 is always gonna be Dracula if possible that just seems stronger. Sure you’d get a 16 power Daken but he’s just asking to be Shang Chi’d at that point where as Dracula is probably getting at least that much guaranteed between just the Modok play and Apoc discard at the end of the game and the opponent can’t really counter it

@@joselocombi6127 Moon Girl is played as a backup plan when Dracula doesn't show up on time. You are copying Wolverine and Swarm for lots of value from MODOK, hopefully also having Collector and Morbius down. Idk who I'd swap out for Draken. Maybe Wolverine, seems like Draken would be better value than him. Also, Nebula is a replaceable card, she is definitely not a must have. I just find it fun for them to commit to her lane to prevent her from growing, then I win the lane anyway with Dracula lol

There is no substitute for MODOK. If you dont have that card, you typically just dont play a discard deck, it wont be consistent enough without him.

I think you did a great job with the Breakdown Drew! I think everyone is thinking of all the possibilities with discard and destroy which I’m sure will be great but I think his biggest synergy comes from him being a 3 cost. Just throw in your standard surfer deck and play killmonger final turn and he’s already better than Maximus lol. I’m excited to see all the combos but I think he’s ultimately gonna find his home in surfer decks after the first week or so of experimenting.

I'm thinking something like this. Jeff, Zabu, Colleen Wing, Polaris, Daken, Miles Morales, Absorbing Man, Moon Girl, Silver Samurai, Stature, Black Bolt, M.O.D.O.K. Absorbing Man to give more shards potentially? I am certainly open to other ideas but as a shell I think this could be really strong.

I've seen a lot of comments about how Moon Girl is going to be good with Daken, but I think it's going to be pretty hard to get 2 shards. By the time you play Daken and then Moon Girl, the shard is likely on the right side of your hand and thus not one of the doubled cards. You may need some one cost cards to make your hand smaller to be able to double the shard.
