I actually met a guy who was cheating like that. I was chilling, platooning with members of a CC discord (won't say the name, it isn't relevant and the youtuber is great), and I came across a really cool guy. We were playing, having fun, laughing together, and he had very good results. That was weird because he had been playing the game for only a year and he was better than me with a decade of experience. I didn't pay much attention to it, but battle after battle he would get 5-6k on a Skorpion G. So I straight up asked him and he confessed. He was using this EXACT same method to cheat (he even screenshared everything to me). Safe to say that I haven't talked to him ever since and I have reported him. I haven't played the game for a few months, so I don't remember his username, but I might go back just to expose him to you guys. The worst thing is that he was doing that on the EU server for a year 6 months ago, so the plague has already spread.

Also all those boosting companies are WOT subsidiary of cause. You can't expect players with THOUSANDS of 0 dmg games in a platoon of 3 not being caught by some anti cheat filter. They know about it and allow it. Have you ever heard of some cheater or thief in real life that did the same scheme thousands of times and got away with it ? it only happens when the authority is complicit. I personally don't care much. Someone needs to do all that to beat me, so be it. Maybe someday people will listen when someone says 'stats don't matter' only to you. Stop fighting over them and play the game. Cheats only happen to 'prove' something. WG tried to stop this in the beginning. Took the top 3 mods being used and added them to the game. They said 'that's it, these three.' Players wanted the stats. Complained they couldn't use 'the mod' anymore and poof, now you can use it. Almost everyone does. This hack doesn't need someone else in on it. Just someone running the same mods. People seem to be paying for things to be done for them. This is why they're here. They are making money selling whatever it is they sell. A WN8 account. Marked tanks, or even the reward tank you grind for. Whomever is buying is the issue, not WG.

All I got was a no good answer: "Please keep in mind that we do not manually punish players using forbidden modifications, our automatic system is taking care of this." 2-3 months ago i did a reddit post after being killed pretty much like that, without being spotted. And the player that killed me went from having 5-600 dmg with Tier X, to have 4-5000 plus on every tank. The post got deleted for shaming.

I'm watching the video again and I think the only solution is for WG to make it impossible to use modifications. Modify the client so that mods cannot be injected into the game pipeline. Just close the back doors. It's not minecraft. some of us have a lot of money in it and WG should protect our investment.

@@TheCrashcore That's the question. Other games have a server registry of mods that you can install from the registry. The game creator will check them to make sure they're not harmful. Modders have to register their mods so others can download and use them. So it naturally happens that there are no banned mods, harmful mods, etc. This is not the case in this game. The game's pipeline is too open. Good intentions are now being appropriately abused.

Wow. I'm so glad this is coming to light finally. About a year ago, I had to play against cheaters with this mod on NA. The game started with an ally e5 asking if anyone was marking their tank. At the time, I was around 93 or 94% on my CS-63 (can't remember exactly) so I said in the chat I was. For the entire rest of the game, 2 enemy arty shot at me no matter what I did. I ran redline and sat still for minutes where it was impossible to be shot, and the second I left cover I was instantly hit. I would also be driving unspotted near the back of the map and be getting directly hit. I knew it was 100% cheating (as even screen peeking would never be that accurate), yet no one ever believed me. I believe I have the replay somewhere if you'd like it Daki. I reported it to WG back then, yet nothing was ever done of it (I saw the players were playing even after WG "took appropriate measures" to my report.

As a professional cheater, who was making money with it, this is self-explanatory. I started to cheat out of fun (I was playing games where ruining game for others was a way to play), then for extreme in-game profits, quickly got eager to know how far I can push, pushed too far, understood I can offer CaaS. Now to answer those who think cheating is for natural omegas and loosers - well, I've seen this argument being made only by ones, lol. More often than not, my cheater colleagues were natural chads, but I'm pretty much not sure what average WoT cheater wants/looks like. As for my experience in WoT cheating, I did this for some months, it quickly became uninteresting - when cheats drop due to expired license or game update, and I'm lazy to install again - I notice you can no longer play without them, your brain refuses to do its thing. So yeah, use with care.

Hi, I recently encountered a TVP that was blind-firing at me constantly, even when I changed bushes or sides of the map without being spotted or destroying any objects. Strangely enough, the enemy artillery was AFK, while both of our artillery units seemed to be controlled by the same person, as they were moving and shooting at the exact same time. I've had that EXACT scenario happen! My teams arty were moving, aiming, and firing in unison. If one turned it's tank to the left they would both move to the left the exact same amount. I sent it to wargaming but have no way to tell what the results were from it.

That's very unlikely to be suspicious. That happens to me like maybe a 1/5 of the time when I play artillery with other artillery present(FYI, i play all types of vehicles roughly the same). It's really simple, the number of positions that are good for arty to fire from is extremely limited on many maps, combined with the fact that if you don't move after firing, you invite yourself to get destroyed by counterbattery fire from any decent artyplayer like myself. Take that with the fact that arty's have very similar, very LONG reload times, and what you describe tends to happen simply because your're seeing artyplayers that are not incompetent.

Happened to me VERY blatantly once just a few weeks ago. One specific enemy fired at me every time i moved up behind bushes on hill, didn't fire at all when i was behind the cover of the hill, and always fired straight at me regardless me changing position all the time. I was destroyed without being spotted once. Had a heavy tank at the time so i blocked over 3k dmg in the process.

I think you are correct! Using SPG bots seems to be common nowadays, at least on Asia sever. I just made a similar post about SPGs... From the post: "I sent a replay of an obvious bot artillery game where we had 2(!) bot SPGs on our team (Looks funny when they act like one!) and some pictures of account info to WG. Result : Nothing! :) They where never platooned or so for rewards. Just bot Artillery accounts." GG!

There are currently around 10 mods that are considered cheats: Tundra - removes all trees, bushes, and foliage from the map; X-ray - allows you to see the outlines of tanks behind any obstacle; Vanga - calculates the lead time, aiming, and targeting of the weakest spot on enemy vehicles; Red Columns - shows the location of enemy tanks that are lit on the map but are outside the player's line of sight; Reload Time above tanks. I have been playing for about 8 years, and the developers are aware of these mods and cheats, but they do nothing because taking action would lead to a loss of players, and they would lose their money.

This cheat is brilliant, it collects information from someone on the opposite team, as Daki said, probably a bot playing arty, and calculates the exact position in "warpack" style based on the information provided by the "traitor". But being strictly technical, this cheat is basically someone on the opposite team spying on their own team. It's basically a "streamsnipe". Sure, the cheat allows for greater precision, but in the end of the day it's the classic traitor on the team.

Best way is fallen tree mod, which probably every artillery player has.

The code could actually be in other mods, especially the legal and popular ones, so there wouldn't be any need to bother about inserting a spy bot in the match queue. Now I don't know if WG wouldn't be able to detect the code in approved mods, but it would be super easy to insert it on unofficial ones

@@KnockoutNico As Daki said, its easy to do in low pop servers. You wouldnt belive how many bots operated by cheaters exists on the NA server early in the day. Its easy to do when there are few people playing. Before the mod explained on this video existed, cheaters would farm bots by operating them on the enemy team, but they would just sit in the open while being farmed from across the map. It was super obvious. This new mod makes things easier for the cheater, no doubt.

Very good and important video. I grew suspicious about something like that a few weeks ago. Clanmate and i played on Wadi, i was playing a TD and stood behind rocks close to the base. I know those bushes are often targets of blind shots, so i stayed behind the rocks. Our scout already cleared the mid bushes so i took a short peake. Bam onehit FV shot the moment i randomly peaked. Same a few minutes later with a teammate. He told me he wasn't spotted aswell. And then something like that occured a third time.. after the second guy got onehitted by the FV i grew suspicious and after the third one i was pretty sure there was something wrong. I messaged the FV player after the game and he told me it was just random blindshooting... well i didn't believe him because those 3 shots all were onehits on targets that were hidden behind cover and then shot after a short peak. He coulnd't have known the exact moment his enemies peaked. The first time i thought okay.. lucky. But 3 times in a row ? ...noway.

Part of the problem is that WG support doesn't actually bother to check replays most of the time. They are adamant that their anticheat works flawlessly.

They don't need to check replays. Writing an algoritme to find them should be simple for them. It's so basic, that anybody with basic knowledge of Excel could do it. People with a very high % of blind fire hits over many games are cheaters. You can be good at guessing the probable location of an opponent (just look at some games of Skill4ltu) but there are limits. Also players that go from being average for a long time to suddenly becoming excellent should be suspicious. There should be some learning curve. But it could be different players using the same account. So you need to be carefull with that. The problem is that it might be that WG actually removes these players. But the problem is that the cheater first need to cheat and they probably need to be cheating for several games for WG to draw conclusions. So it could be that this player already got removed.

OMG! thank you for mentioning the Asia server, we have a very low playerbase, 12k peak during events, these cheaters absolutely destroy games. a few years ago WG banned 1,500 accounts for using cheats/hacks, that's over 10% of the playerbase. i've been blindshotted so many times without ever being spotted even after swapping sides of the map in a light tank, i knew the player was cheating but had no way to prove it, thank you for bringing this to light so everyone can see.

A 45% monkey that spent $10000 on the game will always still lose to a 60% player that has spent nothing on the game. This is not a mobile game where you can literally just buy power over another player. You cant buy positioning, awareness, game sense, knowledge on where to shoot and when to shoot or knowledge on every tank in the game stats. People that cry about P2W in this game have never played a real P2W game. Every advantage you can buy can also be gotten for free (good crews, prem ammo, prem consumable, better equipment) the game is the least pay 2 win than it has ever been.

You also dont say "He had this skin in counter strike, thats why he won. Unfair" Mods help improve the game. 80% of the game today comes from mods in the past. Nowdays wot has implement in the game lot of the " fundamental mods " people used to instal. WG need to add a program to their Sixth sense, that not only alerts the player they've been spotted, but they're being engaged by an enemy who is cheating, because they're engaged you without legitimately spotting you, or having an ally spot you. Then they provide you a means to drop your replay into them, so they can review the footage and take action against the cheater.

another YT channel featured a mod for arty where it calculates the trajectory and placement of the shot for you based on direction and speed tank is moving. There's been so many games where I'm doing 40+ in a light or med and get nailed many seconds after going dark. I guess there's always the chance for a lucky shot, but it happens too often for it to be luck. There's also the mod that has the laser pointers so you can see where enemy tank is currently aiming, obviously the unspotted tanks as well. I think these cheats are more common than most think, albeit it's still a small percentage of total population. If it becomes more apparent, time to stop spending money on the game until they address it. That's the only way to make them act.

I do pull off some worldie arty shots on quick enemies but with a low success rate overall - no cheats needed, I just got good (and lucky!) at leading the target. I also have many perfectly aimed shots at stationary enemies with arty, which miss very badly! The cheat options shown here blow my mind. They make the game very ugly to look at for a start - I couldn't play like that! If it was me that hit you with HE on the move, please accept my apology and GG ;)

I got blind fired 4 times unspotted in the Tesak on Lakeville a couple of days ago in a game with 2 lights on each side. The first shot was in a pretty common bush on the 5 line, but I moved from that to no bush, was still unspotted, and hit again by the same guy 15 seconds later. I completely relocated to the other side of the lake and he hit me twice more. I just thought it was ridiculously good/lucky and sent him a note “congratulating” him on his blinds. Didn’t hear back, but I was suspicious. I even asked in chat if anyone on our team was streaming b/c there was just no way he could have guessed where I was after the relocation across the lake. Our other light died pretty quickly as well and we lost 15-3 to a team that on average was significantly less skill. I really hope this isn’t what happened and that it doesn’t get worse . . . Writing an algoritme to find them should be simple for them. People with a very high % of blind fire hits are cheaters. You can be good at knowing the probable location of an opponent (just look at some games of Skill4ltu) but there are limits.

Except they can do nothing about it. Randomly getting to the same game with your bot is not detectable if your bots are using different ip addresses, which is easy to do. Your bot giving data to you from its side is not going to be through the game server either. Besides, it could be not a bot but an infested unofficial mod pack used by a cheater's enemy team, so even if WG detects and bans any bots in the game it still does not solve the problem. So, how could the game know when it's working? No way to find out. The only solid solution is the full ban on adding ANY mods to the client at all. WG has to add all popular mods to the game client by default and ban any unauthorized modifications whatsoever. And they aren't gonna do it, it seems.

I've also participated in battles in the same way with players whose statistics didn't match. only instead of a NOMAD it was a SKORPION G...I hid behind the BUSHES with a SHPTK - TVP full concealment without firing a single shot. We didn't have a light start or a bourrasque. and yet I was shot twice and other team members were also shot with accurate shots! This type of player is very sad. These players have all the stats of a player!

Funny thing is, that this is not even a new mod/cheat. I don't know how WG would even address this cheat, it really seems like it could be a major problem. The mod doesn't seem to change much of anything for the clients it just shares one players game data with another player in the same match. The data doesn't transfer through WG servers either. When two or more players have the cheat in a match, the data is going 'peer to cheat host server to peer'. I have had a few situations where it really seemed sus and I am starting to suspect this might have been what happened. Taking damage without being spotted, not being in an obvious spot, not staying in same spot after being spotted, and no one on the enemy team is within spotting distance.

Thank you soooo much for this video, Daki! This would explain everything that I experienced on 24th June this year (I checked the date of my screenshots and video that I sent to WG) . I play on Asia Server, mostly night time - with only 1,5 - 2k players online - playing almost exclusively Tier X at the time. This makes you notice strange things easier. For a few days I noticed a sudden increase in number of SPGs per game, from 1 or 2 - and sometimes 0 - to mostly 2 or 3. Its a long story - try cut it short, but the 24th was so fucked up that I checked some strange arty on my team - they where clearly bots. But why? I decided to check some accounts and in 30 minutes I found 10 new accounts started in June, I decided that was enough, that exclusively played French SPGs and then changed to Russian SPGs. Identical statistics over about a thousand games, wich would be expected for software run players. I sent a replay of an obvious bot artillery game where we had 2(!) bot SPGs on our team (Looks funny when they act like one!) and some pictures of account info to WG. Result : Nothing! :) They where never platooned or so for rewards. Just bot Artillery accounts. But I could not really understood why. I posted on Reddit and WG discord, but most people thought me crazy! :) But this explains it, flooding SPGs to get one on the other team! It also explains some strange games where your team just looses, without reason everyone explodes - and other team has a guy doing 6-8k damage! Probably I played with a guy doing the same damage from time to time, but you notice when you get F:ed easier then when your team benefits! Anyway. Thanks for the replay and nice that someone finally brings this issue to the WG table! GG!

This TOTALLY makes sense. I almost strictly play mediums, with an emphasis on m3ds with higher camo/speed. On my Miel (52% camo) and Cslis(46%) I'd be hit by a TD or something else without being spotted, behind numerous bushes and trees with plenty of coverage. its probably a bit difficult to detect bots since so many players are so bad that they seem like bots. there are also "laser" cheats that draws a beam from the gun so you know where everyone is aiming so that you can keep safe.

I encountered a similar situation on the Asia server over a year ago, before I relegated the game to the bottom drawer. I was on Abbey in a TD with excellent view range and cammo. The first blind shot I took, I shrugged off as I was in an obvious sniping position. The second shot I received raised my suspicions, so I moved to an obscure position and got hit again. By this point there was no doubt in my mind that there was yet another, new level of cheating happening on the Asia server.

1 blind fire i can cope with, even 2 if i don't move quick enough (i am a bad player 48+ win rate) With my winrate to get to 50% i need 40k games with a 52% winrate. Will never happen. But cheating to improve it or get marks (i don't care about them) is just not in my playbook. I just want fun when playing, and do my best. Also if you sometimes play tier 5 (late in the night) look out for the rogue excelsior.(goes to the rand of the map, drowns or is a suicide tank)

I've faced this cheat several times recently. I'm a ~3k wn8 player with 80k games that played since launch, and I agree this is worrying. Also as a programmer with a masters degree in distributed systems, I can tell you that this is really easy to do if you have one player on each team with the same cheat. I think ever since the game was new, this sort of map hack has been available but only as mini map indicators or really simple indicators on screen of where the tank might be. But lately with all the money being poured into the dark side of this game, it was only a matter of time before something sophisticated came on the market.

But as Daki says, what these guys usually do is to insert bots into the queue while playing so that there will almost always be like a bot arty or something on the other team.

I think there is more to it than just having two mates chatting on both teams because that doesn't account for the accuracy. Even before you spoke about the end stats you can see in game that not a single shot is missing the target. That's pretty impressive when the targets can be seen and nigh on a miracle for blind shooting, even if the positions show up on the map simply because of the way that the mechanics of the game work. When there is no target, the game mechanics can only guess where you are aiming 3 dimensionally. It can analyze your aim up and down; left and right, but it cant work out distance.

I remember encountering one cheater in my game a month or two ago on Ghost Town, landing hits on unspotted people in the field, across the map, etc. 10K in dealt damage alone, reports were sent in with replays, no clue what happened to the player, but hopefully ended up for the positive.

I believe this issue could be addressed in the future. Most online games have predictable patterns of network bandwidth usage, where players send and receive a steady amount of data based on their interactions in the game world. Cheats that involve constantly transmitting sensitive data, like tank positions or enemy info, to external servers or clients can create unusual spikes in data transmission. Modern anti-cheat systems, especially with AI, are highly effective at recognizing these irregular patterns and can detect such activities. AI's ability to analyze and flag suspicious behavior could help prevent this kind of cheating... I guess

Interesting video, thx! In early December I got a three ban from wg immediately after a match. What happened: I tried to blind fire at an enemy tank. I guessed his position because he was being attacked by a random team mate from a certain direction. Because of this angle of attack I assumed the enemy tank was hiding behind a building. I had a clear line of sight at this spot behind the building, which was out of my render range though. I even knew that the enemy tank was low on hp. So I took my chances. I blind fired, hit and destroyed him. Right after the match I got an email from wg telling me that I had been suspended.

Tundra is VERY impactful, always been. I heard many people say it isn't, as well as other cheats, but i've installed a bunch back in the day and went from my average 55~% without tryharding and 59% with (aka gold ammo and actually really trying and thinking) to 58% lazy mode and 64% tryhard, that's just in the two or so months i was jaded enough to use them. And that was just tundra + laser pointers + tank silhouette behind cover mods, if i'd have the destructible objects mod, fence and shoot through object visual remover mod and some others, it'd be way more impactful still! So yeah, cheats in wot are a HUGE deal, even without this one, and a big reason to why i quit.

I died in such way a week ago on NA, stopped playing for 4 hrs as I thought it was me and it was the usual off peak na issues but I recall chatting with another player who also had been killed unspotted so thank you for solving that mystery Daci. How could wargaming even tackle this ?

Its actually quite simple but its going to take WG YEARS to figure this doozy out. All they have to do is take the IP of the suspected cheater and link it with other devices trying to connect to the suspected cheaters IP from a different location. Thats litterally how botting works. OR. If its a solo cheater Just watch the auto aim. Your mouse leaves the center of screen when aiming at something through the auto aim.

This could explain some games i've had were i wondered why i get so many hits from one person when i am not spotted.

This seems to be happening on the NA server more frequently talking to some other players. I've been having it happen to me on the NA server as well where you are constantly being blind fired on in different locations - even while on the move in the back to a new location. WG needs to do something about this quickly before it kills the game even further.

This explains a lot because I was on my ELC 90 and wasn't spotted and was taking damage even after changing locations and it was always the same player. I thought it was a spot alert bug but apparently not, there are a lot of cheaters in the game. Unfortunately I don't save the replays due to the disk capacity on my PC.

I was suspicious in this as I'm a WoT gamer since nearly 15yrs ago. But, many people said I'm just a fool. But, sometimes even my clan members were noticed the same cheats, like: got hit from nowhere without even spotted, got hit from lower tier tank with higher damage, 0.5sec reloading time on a tank that could not do that in less than 1.5sec (with loader, 100% crew, all skills up), going to one direction, watching somebody, but the turret turning somewhere else and boom... shoot & kill. Or my favorite is to get spotted from other side of map instantly as soon as the round just started. Funny. Once or twice I reported some and all of them were permanently banned. But, that's all...

There was a cheat years ago that showed objects that got touched by tanks (trees, brick, anything that can be damaged) on minimap. There was a lot of people using that cheat in clan wars around ~2017. Another cheat that was an auto aim that you could change to hit tracks, center mass, etc and it would lead the target so you always hit. That one maybe around ~2015. Cheats have been around in wot for awhile, but never THIS bad.
