Yep actual weak POINTS not complete weak Plates miss the excitement when I finally found out that I cann penn a kv1 frontaly with the 75mm L/43 if I take my time too aim the driver viewport keep in mind that was over 10 years ago were the Pennmarker didn't calculate the angel in so green would not automatically make a Penn just that if you hit it perfectly at 90° too the plate

That and there are heavies which are faster than mediums or have better guns than mediums. This creates the need to make them have weak spots and fail more at the heavy role. This is why heavies without weak points are OP in modern WoT, because they also have the speed and guns to back it up.

Its possible to flank but it requires specific match conditions and very risky creative pushes. The risk isnt usually worth it from a stat perspective but its how I have fun.

@@hauptmann25 Back then such risky pushes were much more doable because guns were by average way less accurate (especially back when shot could land anywhere within aiming circle with the same chance) and heavy tanks had much much worse dispersion than mediums. Speed mattered a lot since dodging shells was a viable tactic.

Yep, came here to say this. The maps and the way they are played with TDs at the beginning, if there's no late-game, not many flanking opportunities open. Otherwise, very interesting idea.

Chems did hint at this. "Fast heavies" can keep their weaker armor because they're sacrificing armor for more mobility. It's like a spectrum, the more armor, the worse your speed, and vice versa. Map design is going to be his next video.

No, he cannot. Not by a huge stretch. He has some good observations, but he also has some absolute bone headed observations that just leave one shaking their head sadly. Such as turning SPGs into TDs so the crybabies can shoot back at them (no, I don't play SPGs - but I told them what to shoot for a decade in the military).

The Tiger suggestion is interesting. I like the Tiger 131 and HT VI (same tank) since it's a tier 6 tiger with the historical gun. The only downside is almost every game is against tier 8 premiums.

16:39 this one is a weak argument chems-kun. This game was never historical. It's not even a simulator. It's an arcade tank game. So saying things like "bEcAuSe ThAt'S hOw It WaS iN hIsToRy" is kind of meaningless. If WOT would follow actual history then the balance would fall apart COMPLETELY.

The reason why you have to pen HT frontally right now is because it’s almost impossible to flank on most of the maps, it’s face hug everywhere, especially the newly introduced weather maps

Not only that. Heavy tanks gets perfect hull down positions and are pretty much all made to go to the same spot on the map. Face hug? Sitting in a corridor trading gold ammo is not face hugging. Face hugging is when tanks are nose to nose up against one a other. Face hugging should have the commanders get out of the turret and battle with swords drawn atop the hulls and turrets. Joke.... But that is what it really means. No, the issue is that heavy tanks has such traverse speed and flexibility that you can not flank anything! A IS7 with Turbo/Food/Buffs is so mobile that it puts light tanks to shame... 10 years ago or whatever a IS7 would actually struggle against ELC's or say a T71. That is a heavy tank. Something that actually has slow turret and hull. Look at E75 getting those buffs in the last year or whatever... That is the issue. Heavy tanks are hulldown mediums. And mediums are light tanks but better guns and HP.

I think that was part of chems's point, modern heavies are about as mobile as some of the mediums, so outmaneuvering them isn't possible anymore, so you need to be able to beat them at fist fighting, which defeats the entire point. Map redesign seems to be hinted as the next topic to cover

I agree. While other youtubers try to be "professional", he just genuinely enjoys the game (occasionally) and has good ideas on how the it could be fixed. Since he has no strings attached to wargaming, he can say whatever he wants which is also a massive plus. Easily the best wot youtuber, but not like there was much competition in the first place. (i did not rule break 5, i am simply being factual)

About matchmaking: If a tier 7 light gets into tier X match the tier 10s would HAVE to be lights and SPGs since only they have +-3 mm too, better yet, the team would contain lights and SPGs only since the MM range, because for example heavies/heavy TDs with +-1 cant be in a match with both tier 7s and tier 10s, same with mediums and sniper TDs.

@@michatrzcinski8741 that would be the only fix that I had considered, but sticking to MM only it doesn't work, especially when 3 lights and 3 SPGs are maximum for 1 team, this would make matches with 6 player teams at best, 3 tier 7 lights and 3 tier 10 arty and vice versa at best.

The system could be improved by making it so the matchmaking would only take into account the tanks of the same class. So since new heavies would have a +1/-1 mm, they could only meet other heavy tanks that are one tier higher or lower. This would change the game a lot though and some tweaks would have to be made as well. Such as the fact that tier VI heavies could exist in a lobby against tier IX arty, which would be kinda ass. So i would propose an even different solution for spg's for example: -2/+3 mm, so that it's not too crazy. The idea definitely needs some workshopping, but in general it's a good idea but it would take a lot of effort to make work.

I miss the historical mode in WoT. Some of the most fun I had in the game. Unfortunately hardly anyone understood that they needed to use the mobility of the hellcat to flank the heavily armoured Jagtiger, attacked from the front, died, and with them died the best game mode...

FYI: The lower plate is a weak spot on tanks in real life, but it's rarely an issue in actual tank combat. Real-life engagements are fought at long ranges, with tanks using terrain and positioning to minimize exposure, making precision shots to the lower plate uncommon.

12:58 Something to keep in mind though is Commander's Vision System. (Only available on Tier 8+ Lights AND Mediums). So basically if this is the case, a Tier 7 light can do little against a tier 10 Medium who chooses Spotting equipment because he can take advantage of the situation. For example a Leopard 1. (+500m Viewrange and Vision System) So Vision System is a problem that should be addressed and can make great content for an entire second video on this topic.

What you are forgetting is that for +2 - 2 to happen no heavy could ever be bottom or top tier, so they would be in the middle a lot taking away a bunch of variety from heavy play. Also +3 - 3 couldnt even happen if there is a heavy in the game at all

I guess matchmaking would be like it would pick a number from 1-10, say 7, then it would pick tanks from queue that is able to matched to it. So tier 6-8 heavies and assault tds, tier 6-9 tds and mediums, and tier 4-10 lights and spgs, would satisfy the criteria of matchmaking to “7”.

I think the best way to think of it is to choose a Max tier to build around. So a T9 game would be populated by T8-9 heavies, 7-9 meds, and 6-9 lights. a tier 6 heavy running into a tier 8 heavy isn't supposed to happen with +1/-1

I really love these types of videos to just explore the options of how the game could work instead of how it is now. Where i think your point stands is that heavy tanks that solely rely on armor get obliterated in +2 , since they are very slow and the only thing they rely on most becomes useless, and are impenetrable in -2. +1/-1 could work. There used to be +1/-1 events on wot console. And everyone of who i known enjoed playing during this event.

I mean, armour would actually mean something if it wasn't for the fact that this game has a pay2win mechanic known as premium ammo. Just because it can be bought with credits now doesn't make what this broken and outdated mechanic does to armour and just balance in general any less detrimental as any pay2win mechanic. The game was way more balanced back when premium ammo was very rare in matches even with weakspots AND historical armour values. And despite WG deciding to make armour a balanceable stat and we see tanks getting more and more armour, it is still the same because premium ammo exists so it just makes standard ammo fare much worse while forcing players to spam premium ammo which the buffed armour only performing slightly better against it. Like some weakspots such as the lower glacis of some tanks can still bounce when the tank is angled and the player shooting the tanks uses standard ammo. But what would have a chance of bouncing would have no chance of bouncing the moment the enemy uses premium ammo. Granted some tank weakspot makes no sense like the hull machine gun port on the Maurbrecher which like all German tanks with a hull MG, is not an actual weakspot as it only has enough of a hole for the MG barrel to stick out of it. Everything else around it is the same thickness. You want THE hot take of 2025? Heck of the 15 years of WoT? Remove premium ammo or rebalance it until it is no longer recognisable. Then we can have actual balance, armour that is rooted in history and actually useful but not fool proof, and sensible weakspots. Granted, for balance reasons, tank armour cannot be entirely historical as in the past, some armour thickness mainly side and roof armour were increased so that they wouldn't be easily overmatched by guns below 130mm and such. Why do I want armour to be as historical as possible? Because it gives every tank the same starting point to be balanced around. How can any balance be achieved if there is inconsistencies in balancing one vehicle vs. another? Logically it can't.

Back when nearly every tank with good armor had weakpoints, such weakspots kept the game balanced--- but now that theres absolutely absurd tanks with absurd armor with no weak spots, along with tanks with absolutely insane armament- having weakspots is a detriment to the tank.

Obvious weakspots ruin heavies ( and armor penetration indicator ) I like your ideas, i think one more thing we should revive is OLD weakspots. You know, the weakspots that are specific to a tank like gun port or e75 "ears". But in order for that to work we need to remove armor penetration indicator, or revert it back to when it would show nominal armor thickness, without accounting for the angles

Also, I played WotBlitz for a long time before coming to PC, and a thing I liked about Blitz is that gold ammunition of course had a higher pen but it didn't cause as much damage (~80% of the regular alpha) I think that could help in the grand scheme of things.

​@@matthewschlessman9786 yeah because if you load in gold you would have drastically lower dpm but some tanks can't play without it. Say for instance IS-7. It has 303 pen. On gold. On normal shell it has 253, which is unplayable. What can it do against type 5 or maus, it can't pen it in turret or lower frontal if angled. and with lowered damage it would have dpm of tier 7. That won't work

I believe chems or some other youtuber suggested lights should have cvs integrated into their base stats, while lower tiers hould have it activated while fighting other tiers so the playing field should even out. In my opinion it should work, if not, you can always adjust view ranges and camo ratings.

At this rate, we just need an entirely new tank game. The issues with WoT are far too ingrained to be fixed, and the solutions you're proposing would fundamentally alter the game (which is the point of course). Moving the Tiger 1 and 2 down to Tier's V and VI is all well and good, but what takes their places? There's enough fake tanks in the game as it is. I do really appreciate the thought you've put into this, it shows that you still care about the game despite the shit WG has put you through. But WoT is dying, and WG won't implement these kinds of fixes. A solid competitor is needed for WG to buck their ideas up. And even then, I doubt they'll take your or any other KZbinr's ideas to heart.

It really is that simple. Turn a IS3 into a tier 7? Chems is the kind of player that play mostly broken premium tanks. It never occurred that IS-3A, KV-5, Defender, IS-5... I mean... What good is any of this if the tech-tree still needs a IS3 at tier 8 to be as fast and pretty much the same stats as a IS3, only to attempt to even make any kind of sense to the premium tanks. IS3 Tier7, T10 Tier 8. IS7 Tier 10. Tier 9? Obj 257? Maybe? Tiger II Tier7, E75 Tier 9, E100 Tier 10. Tier 8? And if Tiger I was Tier 5? Is it not funny how the Fresh Heavies are actually rather balanced... As is UK. I mean apart from T29? USA. The premium tank issue... Due to premium tanks nothing but buffs can occur. Moving tanks down tier or anything is not making money. Nothing will sell but making the game faster and more CoD like. Turbo games. That is why heavy tanks have turned into premiums. It makes WG money. End of discussion on that. One can only buff everything to improve things. And WG is even against that idea. World Of Premium Tanks. I would happily go back to pre-physics days of WoT. If only that game also avoided the p2w and premium tank issues. But then WT is a grind fest... And really old WoT is and still today such a grind that is no fun. XP grind that is. Both WoT and WT are unrecoverable. You can not tell a friend to play this games today. Not even a enemy deserve to play this, whatever this games have turned into. WT would be best keept at WW2 battles. But instead focus all development on cold war money printers.

I see what you are thinking. But it is slightly flawed. Having different matchmaking between these would make lights and meds overpowered. With the borrasque demonstration, you shot it with HE from a KV-2 with your matchmaking, a tier 8 light or med would never meet a tier 6 heavy. Lights would basically have the same guns as mediums or some heavies, while still having great camo and speed. Once the enemy tier 8 light is dead, nobody else would have a single chance of destroying or even spotting it.

This only fully works if it's applied to the same role you will be encountering. So, if you're a heavy you will still see that +3/-3 light or arty but see other heavies on both teams only 1 tier higher or lower, otherwise it just doesn't work

I think the best way to think of it is to choose a Max tier to build around. So a T9 game would be populated by T8-9 heavies, 7-9 meds, and 6-9 lights. a tier 6 heavy running into a tier 8 heavy isn't supposed to happen with +1/-1

I remember getting to tier 8 when weak spots existed. When I first came up against a Tier 9 for the first time and not penning it, I didn't think "Games bad, this is broken" I thought "Huh I need to find the weak spot of this tank so next time I know where I can pen it"

I remember killing E-75s in my IS when I learned the range finders and hatch were weak. Dont think that's the case anymore. That was back in 7.2-7.3 patch.

Weakspots are needed, but they should be reasonable. No tumors with size of a turret. No papersheets like Chieftain's or Mino's cupola.

I’m an advocate for +1-1 simply because all that keeps me playing the game anymore is marking tanks I can’t stand it when I’m in a matchup where I’m obviously out classed by stronger tanks and I know that as a result I’m going to likely drop my moe. It’s all just luck when you’re approaching 90-90% MOE You’re praying that you get a lucky string of games in a row that are equal or +1 tier so that you don’t get screwed by tanks you can’t do anything against. I don’t find the lack of variety boring personally because working towards marks is my in game objective. At least the battles overall are way fairer for everyone

Great take Chems, although what I'd bring is penetration dropoff upon angle. This isn't in WoT but it is in War Thunder. In WoT angled armor only increases armor, while in WT it decreases ammo penetration, so APCR slide off angled armor easily. Anynoe who knows how touch IS-4, IS-3 and Tiger II are in War Thunder even against missiles with like 400mm pen knows. I remember bouncing off few shots from AMX 50 100 with my ass in an IS-4. Imho, german HT should be brought down by one tier, or add the midway VK 45.02 H or something like that (Tiger I with front sloped armor) This one small change just entirely buffs having armor and using it. In this model all kind of pike noses with some armor are basically indestructible. Also, but that could be too realistic, volumetric shots, so bigger low-pen shells could be caught with Tiger's driver viewport, or IS-2 going from paper to magic shot sponge, as it's weird shaped armor loves to deflect high pen low caliber bullets. One more thing. Don't nerf heavy mobility. Buff everything else. MAKE HELLCAT GO 92 KPH.

Tbh I was surprised when I started playing this game 5 years ago that tanks such as Tiger 1 and 2, or IS, were on tiers 7 and 8, it was obvious that their armor was too weak and they had to put unrealistically powerful guns there. That's why I like the idea of Tiger 131 and Tiger 2 C , they are a tier lower and seem more balanced and do not have to fight with tanks that are 20 years newer than them. Like look at Škoda T56 and boxy Tiger 2, Škoda looks like 1960s-70s tank not 40s

WoT isn't about balancing tech tree tanks. It is about selling premium tanks. The power creep is very real. And the last time you had to think about how how to use armor or counter actual weakspots was so, so, so many years ago. We will never go back to a state near that. WG is simply not interested in that. Otherwise they wouldn't have made the game faster and faster.

4:55 What your probably have not considered is that +2/-2 bleeds the matchmaker in favour of High Tier. If you want variety and different fights and things to do - that's precisely what the other Tiers are for. Limit EVERYTHING to +1/-1 and put some effort into rebalancing Tiers 1 through 4, I say. Some of the most fun I had back then was my Panzerjager 1 on Tier II - back before everything was an autocannon/machine gun disaster. Edit: But despite me not liking it, I still have to admit that driving around in those "tiny" tanks and spraying and praying is still a variety.

That too. Tier 7 LTs who had -1/+3 were basically Tier 8 LTs in all but the name. If you push the same balancing to the tier 10, you would end up with effectively tier 11 tanks.

The E100 was numbered 100 because it weighed 100 tons. Translated into WOT, that is roughly 5000 - 6000 hitpoints. That would be a lovely brake trough tank.

Tiger 1 armor should be buffed, while yes when not angeling it is easy to pen, when angeling it should be impossible. I mean if you want realistic than take war thunder, if a tiger 1 is angeling its fucking scary. The problem is not the "historical" armor, it is the fantasy pens that we have in wot.

Another interesting idea would be to add advanced shell physics to the game. As far as I know, whenever a shell hits angled armor only the effective thickness is considered. Realistically, AP and APCR shells would be deviated from their original trajectory as they impact the angled armor which would require them to go through more armor than just the effective thickness, with APCR shells being particularly more prone to this. That way, angled armor would be a bit more effective even against gold ammo, which would help elevate pike nose heavies a bit more.

very agree, it always seemed bonkers that a heavy tank that sacrifces everything for armor suddenly finds its armor useless in the wrong matchup (but buffing armor to compensate results in them being impenetrable to everything). Speed meanwhile, is good no matter what. This also explains the original logic of t4 light tanks seeing t7, they can still spot (though the 47mm gun on the pz38 was still completely useless)

Can we agree the "pen indicator" broke the game? It really hurts the heavy tanks. Back in the days we had to look up armour models and make an educated guess, based on the armor angle and our own pen, whether or not we could pen the enemy. Now everybody just waits for the green dot. (also gold rounds are too good)

hellcat fighting t3s would be pretty ludicrous considering the massive view range advantage; bourrasque also has an obscene camo/vr advantage over t6s, it shouldn't be able to fight t6s. uneven mms like the old LT mm (-1/+3) would work better for outliers

Some weakspots make sense if they are historicaly correc, what i would add It is that in the event that there are tanks that face much higher tiers it would be a buff in combat, as it would improve the life of a tank equivalent to that tier and its DPM perhaps, not too much, the penetration and armor would not alter them, as well as the speeds of the vehicles.

All these ideas you have are so exciting to see. It really does sound like the old world of tanks that I loved before I quit the game cause it stopped feeling like it. I so wish wargaming would hire you and make a play test or event mode of this. It's definitely not perfect but it honestly looks like so much fun if I could try it for one day. It cost them too much money so they never will but I love seeing these idea that try to make the game great again like it should have been and was.

bro, regarding your suggested mm changes, there would arise another problem of more difficult platoon pairings. it would kill the variety of tanks u can take inside platoon. and theres a good amount of people playing platoons regularly, while each of the participants might have a different liking of classes/roles to play

I was playing the T110E5 the other day, after not playing it for a long time, and my God that tank is ruined! The commander's cupola is a cancer for the E5, I got penned by almost any enemy tank I encounter. Tier 8 tanks will just load gold and snipe the cupola from 200-300 meters, and any time I came across another tier 10 heavy in close combat I knew I'm going to die... T110E5 was no chance against 60TP, Vz 55, the buffed E 100 etc. And this only because weaklings complained about it being "too strong" because the cupola used to be hard to pen back in the day, and Wargaming nerfed the shit out of it...

Totally agree, some vehicles are near impossible to balance properly with +/- 2 MM and those are mainly the ones that rely on their armor. Other vehicles, mainly mobile ones, don't care about +/-2 unless they're stuck facing heavies frontally with no way around. The tier shifting sounds more complex but if we can already make armor relevant again without having to resort to litteraly unpenetrable behemoths that's a win in my book.

It’s crazy I hear war thunder players complain about wot and the wot players complain about wt. I play both and brother I’ve quit wot due to war thunder just being better, more updates,and even better. NO PAPER TANKS. HALF of the new vehicles added into wot have been a gimmick.

I vaguely recall the conversation of lower mm spread for heavy tanks being an old one. It made sense back then and it makes sense now. I wonder what motivates wargaming to keep it the way it currently is (Discounting old premiums with special mm rules)

I think this is a great idea for world of tanks, and the flanking part that has issues with current map design could be solved quite easily in my opinion. Make more terrain destructible, for example: Let Chems version of SPG's create big holes in the ground to a certain extend, this could hinder movement for tanks but also provide some cover for certain tanks to become hull down. Maybe there is a small bush but your light tank friend is too large to hide in it, and you decide to shoot a pothole near the bush. Now the light tank can get into the created hole and be able to hide behind the bush. Or you have one of those TD sniper maps, and you have a strong turret but a weak hull, you ask your team to create a few holes towards the snipers and try to advance the sniper flank this way. Another idea is make more buildings destructible and maybe make certain materials require an X amount of damage before breaking. (Also great way for the new SPG's and other high caliber guns to dig out heavies by destroying their cover after X amount of damage to the materials). This could add more dynamic fights and different strategies. Maybe the enemy team has advantage on the main road, but you get a tank with a high caliber HE shell to level one of those apartment buildings. Now you can drive over the rubble and commence a diversion to the newly created flank. They could add a new type of tree, one that is slightly wider, this tree can be shot down after X amount of damage but used as a bit of cover or hindrance and may be movable like destroyed tanks. Maybe allow certain tanks to be able to plow and dig into the ground and support the team by creating cover this way, or let the help clear terrain. These plows could also add a little armor but let it weigh down the tank.

About the tier IX thing; there's a reason the tier ix wz td is one of my favorite tanks. I can rape tier 8's and 7's but still competitive in tier 10 cuz of the huge pen and large alpha

The problem with different spreads of mm is it separates mm too much and will make tank class spreads uneven. The easiest solution would be everything gets +1/-1 mm which WG has tested in the past.

the problem with these changes is that they would require completely different maps to work you would need more open maps to give meds and lights the ability to flank heavies, but all modern wot maps are corridor maps, which would make that impossible

this is a good take and i would definetely want to see tier system changed but then also gold ammo MUST be addressed, from what i see lately wg is kinda going in that direction for example look at autocannon lights they dont have gold ammo and i really enjoy playing them cause of it so what is done there is high penetration ammo does less damage but it can contest armored tanks its better than nothing so you chems probably should make a follow up video how would you change ammo to work in game. some people say if high pen ammo dealt less damage it would make heavies too tanky but in my opinion that makes sense so if youre medium tank wanting to fight frontally against strong heavy ofcourse you have to take the downside to be able to contest its armor consistently to me it makes more sense but this system would work best if maps were good like before where you can adjust, flank, enemies adjust, you adjust, fight and it would also slow down a game a bit which it kinda needs i had sitations where i played 3-4 complete matches in bloody 10 minutes! so make it all ammo costs the same APCR and HEAT have higher pen but have a downside for example APCR dealt 15% less damage but can crit crew effectively and HEAT damaging modules effectively for example

Stuff like this is why I love the Mauerberecher so much. People will always try and go for your obvious weakspots but the moment you find that perfect corner you can devestate with your actually heavy armour. It's just a shame it is ruined by the "Oh just go for the lower plate or Cupola" mindset of the game.

Presence of the Weak Spots is the epitome of Wargaming ineptitude to make maps... 3 corridor in bathtube sized map... So everyone face forward to the other side I enjoyed the first appearance of frontline mode (30vs30) because the sheer map size... IMO the perfect map size for 15vs15 should be the size of 2x2 segment of a frontline 3x3 maps (and i ment just the size and not a lazy crop out from actual frontline maps)

I learned early on in WoT that tank roles don’t matter that much. How early on? Well the Pz.II J is a light tank…. I think it each tank has their strengths and weaknesses that players need to learn.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting this kind of idea ... But I like it. A lot. Yes, currently a lot of heavy tank ... Doesn't feel heavy. Sure they have more armor on paper than on medium ... But in practice, it's as good as ones on medium tanks. And it's very satisfying to block a lot. BUT this can't work properly with currents corridor maps. If the solution to those new heavies are "Flank them", but the maps don't allow it, then we're f&&&ed. The maps define A LOT which tanks work and which don't. But nonetheless, I appreciate very much what has been shown. Looking forward for video about maps.

My idea is a little simpler: Instead of balancing the tanks, you just add new difficulty levels. "But its a multiplayer game, how you do that?" Simple: for each difficulty level, the match maker will act differently. 1)Normal mode: Minimal change, the Match maker will mostly act normal, but with a small bias towards placing you in middle tier in non-tier X games. 2)Easy mode: You will always be top tier, but you'll suffer a 25% penalty to credits and exp earned. 3)Hard mode: You will always be bottom tier, but you'll get a permanent 50% bonus to credits and exp earned, that stacks with premium days, boosters etc (You won't be allowed to play tier X in this mode to avoid abusing this) Also if the match maker has trouble filling out the slots...just use bots on Easy mode. People would go to that mode for less stressful games anyway. What do you think?

Actul WW2 Heavy tanks (with heavy armour) being trash is kind of historical. All of them had insanely low reliability compared to mediums and lights, difficulties in terrain, high production and maintenance costs, and were hard to produce. Also due to the slowness, sizes and visibility heavy tanks were usualy much more susceptible to close air support. In the end, you would be better off producing more of mediums/lights than heavies.

I've been playing the game for 11 years and i definitely think that +2/-2 is a somewhat recent problem (which i believe started with defender), which was caused (IMO) by the premium tank balance (especially at tier 8). Tier 8 prems aren't made anymore to fight against tier 8, but to fight tier 10 and crush 8's. Would people buy the mauerbrecher or patriot? obv not, they'll buy the skoda, xm57 and bz. They aren't selling tanks with a fair fighting chance, they are selling obviously better tanks than the tech tree ones. I would love to fight +1/-1, but it's a band-aid on a shotgun blast.
