Hi, would these be suitable for a KW truck with mechanical throttle? I’ve got a VDO Tempostat cruise I’ve had for about 20 years, but you can’t get parts from them anymore and it’s playing up. My truck works in very hot conditions, and of course you do a lot more miles in it than a car, so it would have to be reliable.

Whats the difference between CRS 2000 aur CRS 3000?

Hello Mohsin, The CRS-2000 includes a pulse generator, allowing a mechanical speedometer to feed the cruise control a speed signal. The CRS-3000 does not include a pulse generator, so will be connected to an existing VSS source directly.

@@SolarDIYTalks Hello again Mohsin, This is a universal cruise control kit, and while we do not have specific experience with a 2005 Corolla application, this should be practical. We would recommend the HND-2 control switch.

I don't get it? This cruise control looks exactly like a Rostra cruise control kit. Same parts, same brackets, same screws, same connectors, etc. What the deal???

We are a dealer/distributor for the Rostra systems. We add our own installation manual and parts when applicable, and support the product

Oh OK. I came across your video because I was hunting for a brand other than Rostra. I just installed a Rostra universal model on my 96 E350 van. Tested fine but then two days later the column control almost caught fire before the 4 amp fuse blew. After that happened I thought I might like to try a different brand but I have not been able to find any other company that makes after market cruise controls. They are sending me a new control but I think I'm going to use a 2 or 3 amp fuse so the fuse blows before the control melts down in case this happens again. Have you ever heard of one or these burning up?

No, never had a report of a unit catching on fire; they've been very reliable for us over the past 15+ years.

I started tracing out the wiring before installing the new control just to verify I had wired it correctly and that the harness was not defective. Half way through that I discovered one of the wires had become pinched in the parking brake mechanism, grounding it out. It was the wire from the SET button which is where the control started burning. All fixed, but I am still reducing to a 3 Amp fuse because the circuit protection should have popped before the thing melted down.
