Cruise Control is such a luxury. Will probably put one on my base model Blazer. Looks well worth the money, and something controlling your vehicle's speed shouldn't be cheap. Much obliged :D

I have the DD Ion series, speedo/tach/odometer in my late model Mazda truck and I'm using the DD SEN-01 8K pulse generator to acquire a speed signal. I also have a Holley Sniper EFI 2300 fuel delivery system and having this cruise control system would be immensely useful. I drive all over the Midwest in my truck and my right leg/ankle gets really sore (I'm 6'4" and I have screws in my ankle) Even after only driving for a few hours my leg will begin to cramp up on me. I'm really happy to see this.

Great video. I have owned this set up for over a year. Only problem I had was "solid core" spark plug wires do NOT work and will interfere with the electronics. I swapped them out to suppression core plug wires, my problems when away. Works great on my 1966 Mustang with the HND-2 switch!

Can the 45 mph limit be overridden. I am considering cruise control on an electric vehicle for spraying and typically at speeds of approx 10 mph. Is this possible?
@mothridith97602 жыл бұрын
You could get the 8k pulse per mile kit and set the input to 2k pulse per mile that would get you 12 mph activation
@DakotaDigitalTV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the message Wayne, Since the PPM settings will directly impact the minimum engagement speed, you could offset this number to reduce this closer to your preferred target. The side effect of doing this will be in accuracy, though. This sort of low-speed operation is outside of the design scope of this product, so the results just may not be favorable.

@DakotaDigitalTV at 6:10 the video says "Ununfortunately this is output is not active when used with BIM-01-2 OBD-II interface" Is this true for all "BIM-01-2" modules or just the "BIM-01-2 OBD-II" module? I am using the BIM-01-2-HLLY with my HDX-73C-PU dash and I am wondering if I will need the STA-1000 module for cuise control. If it matters I have a Holley Terminator X max with a 4L80e trans.
@DakotaDigitalTV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the message Alex, Since the Terminator X will contain a VSS output, we would suggest connecting this signal to the HDX "SPD SND" terminal on the control box. Providing this wired VSS signal will allow you to take advantage of newly-calibration SPD OUT terminal, allowing you to connect this to the Cruise Control speed input.

Will this kit work on a older big rig truck with a mechanical cummins 855 with a 13 speed
@expertcarguy4 ай бұрын
Unbelievable! I managed to separate the 4 wire connectors. Apparently, the tab that goes into the loop in the other side of the connector just barely fits into the loop. In order to separate the connector you have to in essence make the loop bigger so that the tang on the tab can clear the loop. I did this by holding onto the side of the connector that has the tab on it with a pair of vice grips being careful not to crush the connector and prying up on the loop with a very small screwdriver. Once the loop is big enough that half of the connector pops off. The plastic is soft enough so that it gives a little bit and did not break.

I am installing this on my T bucket. The engine is a 396 chevy. This was very much worth watching. I had one question about the added ice cube relay. Your picture of how it looks when it is wired in was all that I needed. I was concerned that with the brake peddle engaged there would be a short in the light system. I see that you are routing the 12 volts through the built-in windings of the relay. I understand now. You might want to reword your instructions and show a picture of it hooked up like you did in this video. Nice video.
@DakotaDigitalTV6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, and the feedback! The taillight relay is among the most asked-about steps of installation.
@Cotronixco4 жыл бұрын
All you need is to add some conductance to the brake circuit. The relay coil is enough. You don't even need the relay contact connections. Heck, a resistor across the brakelight circuit would do the trick as well, with no relay required.
@Rat-Builder4 жыл бұрын
@@Cotronixco Well you are correct, but, I understand ice cube relays, I do not understand resistors. There are a jillion different resistors in all shapes and sizes. I am a mechanic, and have been for my whole life. I wish that I was more at home with electronics, but alas and alack, I am not. I am 73 years old, and I am in the group of people that do not even understand my damn "smart " phone! My phone is way smarter than I am, yet I built a vehicle from scratch. If I need something new on my phone, I have to give it to a 10 year old to get it accomplished. LOL Sad, but TRUE!

Something this video does not address is throttles that have greater than 1 5/8 movement. Trying to install this on a P-pump diesel with a bit over 2" of throttle travel, and it will not pull the cable enough to go faster than 62mph. The instructions say to add some slack. But I do not see how that helps. The box still has to pull in that slack and then goes over the 1 5/8" limit even further. Maybe I'm over thinking it. A video of how adding slack resolves that issue would be extremely helpful.

You didn't show where you have to separate the wiring harness at the connectors to get the wiring through an existing hole in the firewall. Good luck. I've been trying to get the two 4 wire connectors apart for hours. The last resort is to destroy the clip on the connector, then it'll come apart. These things are impossible. The instructions offer 1 sentence and warn not to pull on the wires. UH-HUH, yeah. I'm holding one side with vice grips and poking the tab in with a small screwdriver because pushing on the tab with my finger is worthless. I'm probably going to have to get a band-aid soon after I jab myself with the screwdriver and bleed all over the connector. If only you had used better connectors. I hope the rest of the install goes better.
