This depends upon the selection made, and the sensor being used. For example, there is a GM 0-90 and a 90-0, so this may have been inadvertently select. Another option would be a sensor arm installed backward. Feel free to contact us directly at [email protected] .

i have signal wires from factory sensors (temp sensor, pressure sensor and speed sensor) so VHX module work with those wire or i have to use Bim-01-2? if i have to use a Bim else i need to connect signal wires from factory sensor to VHS module or just unplug those wire and connect the Bim-01-2?

Hello Javier, With the VHX kit, you'll either need to use the supplied sensors and harnesses, or the BIM-01-2 to acquire this information instead. If using the BIM, this information will enter the VHX kit using the BIM I/O input connector.

Why couldn’t you use the stock dash light wire, that should be 12v when not dimmed? I’d rather not cut into the tail light wire on my 78 Bronco. It has the American Autowire replacement harness.

Thank you for the message. The DIM input terminal will control whether or not our our system is in Day, or Night mode. With no voltage present on this input (typically the parking/tail light circuit), the system is in Day mode. When 12vDC is applied, the system enters Night mode. When in Night mode, you can configure the brightness level within the instrument system setup menu. Using a variable input, such as the dash light bulb wire, will not have the same effect, since there are no incandescent bulbs being used, and the input trigger is looking for the presence or absence of voltage.

@ the Bronco has a variable resistor to reduce the voltage to dim the factory dash lights. Wouldn’t the Dakota unit sense this voltage? I understand the stock switch will no longer be able to be used to dim the lights, but if I use that wire I wouldn’t have to cut into the running light wire.

@@1971_Chevelle_SS The varying-voltage dash light wire will not directly control the input of the Dakota Digital processor-controlled backlight, the DIM terminal is not sensing a varying input, since it's designed to take the On/Off parking/tail light wire directly.

Hello Javier, No, the OEM Neutral Safety Switch cannot be used with the GSS-2000 decoder The included GSS-2000 sensor will have to be used along with the mating decoder.

With my tank 100% full, My sensor shows 108ohms key on, and 280-320ohms while running. Also intermittently getting fuel open message while driving, then goes off then comes on about 10 times within a 10 mile drive.

It sounds like the connection to the sensor (either the signal or the ground side) is intermittent, I would suggest evaluating the full length of this wiring to determine where this taking place. Most likely, the round side of the sensor has a poor connection, which is impacting this reading with the engine running. We suggest grounding the ring of the fuel sensor to the FUEL - terminal on the gauge control box.

All programming will be retained for several years with the battery disconnected. The only change needed is re-setting the clock, which would clear after the loss of constant power.

Unbelievable! I managed to separate the 4 wire connectors. Apparently, the tab that goes into the loop in the other side of the connector just barely fits into the loop. In order to separate the connector you have to in essence make the loop bigger so that the tang on the tab can clear the loop. I did this by holding onto the side of the connector that has the tab on it with a pair of vice grips being careful not to crush the connector and prying up on the loop with a very small screwdriver. Once the loop is big enough that half of the connector pops off. The plastic is soft enough so that it gives a little bit and did not break.

You didn't show where you have to separate the wiring harness at the connectors to get the wiring through an existing hole in the firewall. Good luck. I've been trying to get the two 4 wire connectors apart for hours. The last resort is to destroy the clip on the connector, then it'll come apart. These things are impossible. The instructions offer 1 sentence and warn not to pull on the wires. UH-HUH, yeah. I'm holding one side with vice grips and poking the tab in with a small screwdriver because pushing on the tab with my finger is worthless. I'm probably going to have to get a band-aid soon after I jab myself with the screwdriver and bleed all over the connector. If only you had used better connectors. I hope the rest of the install goes better.

I love my HDX. I am having my first issue. I cleaned up my engine area but all the wires in looms and made it pretty under the hood. I disconnect the battery. Now am getting: The buzzer going off And "BT Idle" showing up on the display. ANY HELP would be appreciated.

Ill be installing my HDX in my 70s Camaro. I have only one wire for the guage the brown wire. I am guessing I put that into fuel sig. If i do this with no ground on the control box will fuel gauge work? Or will I need to drop my tank and run two wires back.

If the tank is sufficiently grounded to the vehicle, a single wire connection will be OK. A dedicated ground wire is always the best option though, since it rules out potential issues below the vehicle.

Quick question, I have a 2013 road glide. I have the MLX 8604 kit installed. Have to set up my odometer asap, but I don’t have a function switch. Perhaps it’s just referring to the trip switch? The 14+ road glides have a function switch on the front side of the bars, however 98-13 do not. I just go to the odometer and hold the trip button to set? I’ll try again in the morning. Just want to make sure I set my odometer before going on my trip

If the GPS-50-2 is unable to receive satellite reception, it will look to the onboard accelerometer, as a backup. Keep in mind, this is only providing the speedometer information, so this will be the only readout impacted. Alternatively, this is only the case with a GPS speed sensor, a more common wired connection would never experience this.

When using a GPS-50-2 along with a BIM-01-2 variation, we suggest connecting the Speed output from the GPS directly to the instrument system control module, not using the BIM connection.

I have no way to know what sender was used during the build of my 34 ford, but I did the custom set up, and it initially seemed to work perfectly. Next day I start it up to take a test run, and I get a Fuel F3 error and it shows empty… what might have happened? Could it be interference and I need to twist the wires running to the sender? I thought I was too lucky when it worked first time!

I went back to the sensor to check it and found the signal wire connection had loosened up again and was giving an erratic reading. I terminated that line with a fresh connector and re-seated it and put a drop of lock right on it. New ohm readings matched a GM sensor on the list, and I am in business! Thank you!

Yes, when calibrating the unit, program the OD at the same detent position as D, telling the GSS-3000 that you do not have overdrive.

It's literally plug and play. I have a late 80s c1p, 90 ohm sender..I selected gm 90 and it's perfect.
