I have to agree with you there. My girlfriend and I had a blast pointing out illogical (re)actions by characters, mistakes and lousy acting. We were talking throughout the movie. We agreed that the only character with ANY substance and credibility, and decent acting, was Julia. We even failed to care about anybody's faith, and it turns out I myself would have been more evil than the badguy in this story (e.g. * SPOILER ALERT * I'd have gone after the pregnant woman and have demanded to trade her for the three teenagers rather than going after the only people strong enough to defy me).

I don't find any emotion she shows believable because of how half-baked they are, and if you can't express an emotion sufficiently to look real, you definitely can't express it in the slightly exaggerated way that's needed for it to be felt as sarcasm. As an actor, she should be able to nail bringing across sarcasm. The fact she doesn't for so many probably has something to do with her acting skills. Not saying she's an insincere person or anything, just that I think she really should consider pursuing a different career.

I saw her in Luca Guadaccino's "Suspiria" remake, which is IMO, better (one of those very rare cases) than the original Dario Argento's film. I think she was great in her role and that she's better than the mcu or any other lousy spiderverse cash grab thing from Disney or Sony. She should go do other stuff, better stuff. I swear Dakota Johnson acts like Sony is holding a gun to her head. Sony: "You're going to say nice things about Madame Web, go on tours & talk about the movie & stuff, I don't care what you say just do it!". "Is there anything you can tell us about your movie? Can you at least tell us if it's good?" Dakota Johnson: "Why? It's not like I'm having a gun held to my head or anything haha"
