hi Dave & Helen just enjoyed watching your latest vid with clips of my home town Lincoln , i have just spent today visiting Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby just a few miles from Coningsby which is well worth a visit they have a Lancaster there which does taxi runs, after full restoration they hope to get it airworthy. Lost my wife 10 yrs ago but still continue to caravan at 80 and enjoy my travels look forward to your next vid. thanks Don.

Hi Don, thanks for your lovely comment. They told us at the aviation museum about this, a lot of work, time and money but to get a 2nd air worthy Lancs would be amazing. Lincoln is a beautiful place. We hope we’re still Caravanning at 80! full of admiration for you. All the best. Dave & Helen 👍

We were coming back from Boston hospital on the back road a few months ago when 3 typhoons were doing circuits and bumps (my dad was in the RAF and they used to do it in Vulcans when I was little). A few days later my daughter phone me and said “You know when we saw those Typhoons doing bumps and grinds……” 😂🤣 I laughed my socks off!
@HelenandDave3 ай бұрын
Hi Barbs, the Vulcan is our favourite plane, both our parents are ex RAF and Dave’s dad was a pilot. We have their names in the bomb bay of the last Vulcan to fly which is at Robin Hoods Airport at Doncaster. Love watching the planes touch & go! We’re off to RAF Mildenhall with the caravan shortly, The Willows is a regular place we visit with the caravan 👍

Hi dave & helen , love looking back at all those old pics you out up of the squadrons , lovely little site too , like you say who cares about road noise when you got eurofighters skimming your aerial 😂 Nice one both have a good weekend 👍

Hi Kirsty & Mike, thanks very much, you know us, love the planes and these days favouring the little private sites and CL’s. Hope you’re both well and looking forward to your weekend. ATB Dave & Helen 👍

Hi Dave & Helen, A great find for you both, just your cup of tea. We don’t mind a CL (as long as it’s hardstanding and serviced you know us) they are a good way to balance the touring budget. We’ve been looking at CL’s in the area to book a trip next year. All the best, Rob & Gail

Hi Rob & Gail, thanks very much, yes we know your preferences by now lol but have to agree, CL's and some of these private sites are the way forward for us. Regards, to you both. ATB, Dave & Helen

Good video. I lived in Peterborough for 8 years in the 80’s, but I never visited Lincoln. Next time we stay at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough I will go and visit Lincoln.

Great stuff as usual, the still photos are superb too, excellent shots. We enjoy that area too, several trips there, not seen all the Bomber memorabilia in Lincolnshire yet, so will be returning several more times. Never miss going to see the progress on the Just Jane Lanc. Also had a birthday meal in the Petwood Hotel one year, that oak panelling is something else, got a history lesson from a local who said the panelling in the hotel was covered over to preserve it from the antics of the aircrew apparently.!

Hi Mel, thank you so much for your comment. We’ve visited the hotel a few times, love the bar 🍺😊. Like you, we will be back. ATB Dave and Helen 👍

I remember reading that during the height of battle of Briton the average life expectancy for fighter pilots was 5 days...and for bomber crews it was 5 weeks and still Thay went up day after night...Thay we're truly the GREATEST GENERATION!!!.🤔💕🇬🇧🇺🇦

RAF Lincolnshire I remember it well. 617 were at Lossie when I was on XV sqn. I suspect it was one of the squadrons going on QRA the sqn would be getting all the aircraft they could to be serviceable before then. .Thanks folks

I love this video Dave. I especially loved your visit to the memorial flight museum. I work at Biggin Hill airport so every day the spitfires are taking off and landing it’s just a lovely sound of the Merlin engine. How far in advance did you have to book the pitch? I think we will have to go there. Thanks again for your great video. 😊

Thanks Greg, really pleased you enjoyed it. We only we booked the week before we went there. Must agree, the sound of the Merlin is out of this world. How lucky you are to be working at Biggin Hill. Thanks for watching. ATB, Dave & Helen

At 3 mins in H has already declared that we are going here 😂😂😂 Definitely our sort of place that. Brilliant photos and video Dave. The rate of climb of those Typhoons is amazing. So we are in your debt yet again for showing us another gem. Best wishes H and M .

That girl has taste 👍 Martin, watching Typhoon’s was breathtaking at times and they were night flying all week, at one point we had a dozen or so of them flying circuits, touch and goes for a couple of hours whilst we had fish & chips! Marvellous. The beauty of us all sharing our travels on KZbin, we can view before we book. Thanks both, ATB Dave & Helen
