I don't know how old this video is, but, I want to encourage you. You're right, everything happens for a reason. Many years ago, I had the opportunity to be with a good guy. He was definitely interested. He made it very obvious, lol. Even so, he had some healing to do from his own traumas, but, he was generally a good guy. At the time, I had a LOT of healing to do. I was so messed up, I was the type to sabotage any potential relationships because I had emotional intimacy issues. I would push people away a lot. There have been times when I look back and wished I had accepted that guy at that time. But, I look back again and I realize.... No, I don't. When I tell you I had issues back then, I had me some _issues_ ! My issues had issues. I was really messed up from some childhood trauma. If I had gotten in a relationship with that guy at that time, and with our combined passed traumas, there is a high possibility that our relationship would have been a dumpster fire - hot, smoking, nasty, toxic, burning garbage of a relationship. I am so glad that at that time, my own fear of emotional intimacy kept me from getting into a relationship with him because I might have hurt him deeply - and he might have hurt me deeply with all of his issues. Today, me and this guy are best friends. We've been best friends for 18 years. God willing, maybe something will happen between us in the future. But, I look back, and I don't regret rebuffing his affections at the beginning of our friendship. Had we gotten into a relationship that would have turned into a nasty dumpster fire, and I highly doubt we would have the friendship we have today. And my friendship with him means so much to me. Anyway, I say all that to say, you know who you were at that time. You look back, and you know you had things you needed to heal from. Yes, it sucks that this guy could have been a good guy for you. But, you know that saying, "you need to heal from your trauma so you don't bleed on those who didn't hurt you." This applies here. You might have bled all over him because you had not healed from your past trauma yet. Yes, it sucks, but, knowing who you were at the time and the things you had yet to heal from, maybe it's best it didn't work out at that time. And in time, you will meet the person who's right for you. Just give it time.
