Mind blowing. This skywalk should be protected from Pan wala gutka wala. Also in future it is the duty of hawkers who kept open their flowers and sweet shop to keep this state asset neat and clean. The person who ever found guilty to not to abide by the cleanliness rules of the skywalk area should be punished by fine of Rs 1000.00. and that way state government can earn a lumpsum revenue and users of this skywalk will stay clean. Also unnecessary unwanted hawkers should not be allowed on this skywalk. Thanks.

It's good and I appreciate it no matter which government is doing this it's beautiful. As a student of Architecture I am inspired by its design and infrastructure. But in comment section I saw peoples making arrogant comments. I just want to say it's just a small skywalk of course it's beautiful but Kolkata deserve better than this it's a metropolitan City. I from Mumbai Even cities in Eastern Mumbai district have such a beautiful skywalk. Cities like Dombivili-kalyan, Ulhasnagar, Ambarnath, Badlapur and many more. Here I am not comparing Mumbai with Kolkata. I am trying to say don't be so arrogant for one skywalk.

At 3:00 there are shops inside skywalk which reduced the width in half. When these shops will open people standing in front of these shops will reduce the path width even more. Similarly there is another choke point where gaint name is placed where people are clicking pictures. Very poor engineering.

Good job by Bengal government in making this so much needed skywalk for citizen of BENGAL .But we need more simple solutions like this Skywalk everywhere in Kolkata.In the end it's a simple skywalk I don't think this much hype is required like we have sent man on moon.And to the state government Instead focus on bringing more great infrastructure projects to Bengal where Bengal is really lagging .

The Mumbai skywalks are ill maintained and under utilized. They do not have escalators or lifts in it. You can check the videos. It's was a wastage of money.

Babul Supriyo is the Urban Development minister. A portion of the East West Metro is under Urban Development, so Babul Supriyo calls up for press conferences only for East West Metro. The Dakshineswar metro is under Indian Railways, so Babul Supriyo has nothing to do with it. 😊. Dakshineswar Metro should be ready by March 2020.
