Every single state is completing their project with 3 to 5 years but Kolkata new metro is still under construction. Kolkata was first city to develop a metro but today Delhi and other Cities are out performing. Even Mumbai East district is going to get it's own metro.

Kolkata , Bihar and Hyderabad are 3 of the most dirtiest city I have ever visited (I am not trying to put anyone down but being honest) Try to accept it and make it clean instead of blaming other ... Especially north Indian , we are very good here ,

Being from Hyderabad I understand that our metro stations are much more greener as it is quite open for natural light and air.

Yes. East-West Metro's salt lake section is built over a narrow road. The stations have tall buildings beside, thus not letting natural air to flow in.

I live in gurgaon and that's why I'm very frequently take delhi metro. They connected three states you can ride from Gurgaon(haryana) to noida(up) via delhi. So I've also dreaming that one day metro will connect kolkata with burdwan😁😁. Am I dreaming much more tha the limit???? 🤔

Well yeah. Burdwan is far away. But Kolkata Metro has already become an inter-district transport system. It connects North 24.Parganas with South 24.Parganas via Kolkata 😛😛😛

@@MetroRailBlog on road noida to huda city center (gurgaon) takes 60 km. But in metro it takes only 42 km. So burdwan can be connected from Santragachi and it will take maximum 70 km via the shortest route. I think so. Don't know about the actual engineering

since we already have a pretty decent suburban railway system /mrts connecting kolkata and burdwan i don't see the need for a metro , improving existing infrastructure and providing better ( possibly air conditioned ) rakes on those lines can easily get the job done !

Thanks for the beautiful footage. Awesome to see the non oscillating purple hand rests while the train is in full motion. I wouldn't have noticed had you not pointed out. Was too busy looking outside of the window (through your camera 😁) Hats off to Mitsubishi. Now our job will be to behave responsibly and use it clean, ride it clean and keep it clean. Looking forward to a ride to howrah maidan and back to sector v.

Whatever be it, Kolkata metro railway project in its entirety, needs an overhaul. Firstly they have to change the old railway coaches. What the metro authorities doing in North South Corridor is that, they are just painting the non-ac age-old coaches in sky blue and navy blue colours and running them and most of the times these coaches turn out to be faulty, emitting smokes and electrical problems (apart From suicide attempts). Also they need to acquire new railway coaches From CLW and making alternative arrangements. Moreover, they need to establish lavatories, drinking water points in every metro station. For example, see the Girish park, Shovabazar, mg road stations. They don't have these Facilities. Again, online recharge systems For Kolkata metro railway project should be started via paytm. ITS NOT ABOUT HERITAGE, BUT CHANGING ACCORDING TO THR CHANGING TIMES. The north south Corridor needs a proper makeover.

I completely agree with u mam but we should also be ready to pay a higher fare as compared to the present fare... In delhi the minimum fare is RS. 30 whereas in kolkata the max fare is RS. 15.. & if the fare witnesses a hike i'm sure that many of us will start protesting against it....

That will involve some hike in the fares, last time it was raised, there were riots. So enjoy the old rakes.

the rakes of the present line are manufactured by ICF who is by no means a metro rake manufacturer. the old non-ac rakes will be replaced once the new rakes from ICF(again) and CRRC(hopefully they would be of much higher standard )join the fleet. In the meantime, all the necessary facilities / basic amenities you have mentioned should be implemented.

Good work MRB... But I am a little worried... A project that was supposed to complete in 2013 is not even 50 % complete in 2018... Not to wonder... Kolkata realy is dying... Every pasing day it is even more lagging than even the tier II cities like Nagpur, Jaipur .. the worst part is.. its own people are not worried about the city.. very sad... No job.. no infrastructure...only phurty and anando...

The main reason y i guess it lagged was due to fund shortages and several land disputes. The centre itself on several occasions refused giving. The same thing is happening with Kolkata suburban railway where in this yr budget Jaitley announced 11k crore to spent on suburban infrastructures in Mumbai Bengaluru etc bt no mention was made of Kolkata which has a far more extensive line than other cities.

I've taken rides on beml rakes in bengaluru , although back then namma metro was fairly new and trains weren't running at full speed ( stations are pretty close on the byappanahalli stretch ) but judging by this video the beml rakes seems to be offering better ride comfort compared to icf rakes , which is a good thing , can anyone clarify if beml manufacturers these rakes entirely by themselves or are there certain parts that are imported ?

BEML manufactures the shell and interiors of the rakes. The electrical, electronic and propulsion systems are given by some other company (Mitsubishi in case of East-West) which is later on assembled inside the rake by BEML.

the bangalore metro is very very much smaller in length than the current kolkata metro.......current kolkata metro does an excellent job in carrying passengers and helping in transportation ..... bangalore metro has such less number of compartments.......!!!.... is so small....

Is line 5 -baranagar barrackpore actually happening?..I have heard that maybe this is the only metro project that is getting scrapped and a alternate line may come up from dumdumjunction to barasat.This channel is great.I too keep myself updated on kolkata's metro train news and updates.

Good to see that 6 coaches are there in a rake, not like Bangalore ,here we have only 3 coaches per rake.Thanks for uploading the video. It will be a superhit. We struggled a lot in our college days while going to Sec-V from HWH. Why it will be a no-photography zone sir ?

I think Kolkata is known as the city of Joy , cultural capital of India , food capital of India , former British capital of the entire Indian subcontinent , place where most people have the most perfect golden complexion in the world due to its special climate including water , place of most beautiful females in the world , future world IT hub with upgraded Sector V along with Newtown and London of east as well . Perhaps more metro service will make Kolkata more eco frrienly as well . Probably Kolkata will be greener in coming days and become one of the worlds greatest and most beautiful metropolises in coming days .

Everyone concerned about the auto's and buses, there are other routes too where throughout the day a lot of congestion passes. They can run there vehicles on those routes like airport to central/lalbazar. Thriugh this route so many people's travel that in the bus you hardly get space to stand. Just a suggestion though.

All the metro lines will take 20 years or more to complete. So admin will be more than 60 years at that time

Anyway oi akta sector 5 metro station ei ki 4te line dhorabe for both line 2 and line 6 naki separate sector 5 metro station korbe r dutor modhe pathways kore debe interchange koranor jonno like in Delhi metro....

@@souravpal9546 Line-6 er jonno Separate Metro Station banano hochhe Sector-5 e. Ekhono line pata hoyni okhane, hole 2to line pata hobe. Metroy usually single line hoyna. Viaduct ta dekhe hoyto apnar single line lage, but double-line e hobe.

@MetroRailBlog how did you understand that the train touched 80 kmph mark? Were you measuring the speed in your device? Also after Central Park Station the train became really slow, any particular reason for that? Finally what will be the operational speed of this Metro?

1. Speed is a factor to be always monitored during trial runs. We kept our eyes on it. 2. Before Entering City Centre, the train crosses many turnouts (tracl changing points). So speed is limited to 15 Kmph. 3. 80 Kmph will be the operating speed. Since the stations are too close to each other in the elevated sections, the speed will remain within 50 to 60 Kmph (maybe).
