Daal Chawal is a popular dish that is largely eaten in Asian countries like India, Pakistan, and Nepal. It consists of lentils and rice.The lentils are cooked until mushy, typically flavored with cumin and coriander for extra flavor. Jeera Rice is an Indian style Rice dish flavored with cumin.
Ingredients :
For Yellow Dal
1 cup Pigeon Lentils (Washed & Soaked)
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt
2 Cups Water
3-4 Garlic Cloves (crushed)
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
For Tadka
Ghee
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1/2 tsp Asafoetida
8-10 Curry Leaves
1 Green Chilli
For Chawal ( Jeera Rice )
2 tbsp Ghee
2 tsp Cumin Seeds
2 Bay Leaves
1 cup Kolam Rice (Washed & Soaked)
2 cups Water
1 tsp Salt

Whenever I hear Dal Chawal, I think of those old Hindi movies where everyone sits on the floor with the stainless steel thalis and grab a handful of chawal and eat. Some grains of rice fall back into the plate from their hands... that is so classic Dal Chawal! it makes the food look so chewy and yummy =D haha im know im weird. but its soooo lovely !

1st Time i made dal Chawal with the help of your video ...and the proportions were on point ... it was a lot for single person but no worries it will be lunch for next day ... everything went smoothly from the salt the taste all of it thank you ... i didn't had coriander as i was making at 11:30 pm so i used some kasuri mehthi with it and was delicious!!!! Thank You so much for making this video it helped a lot :)
