They've actually been foreshadowing Khadgar's age and perspective on death since Shadowlands and even in bits of Dragonflight as well in Stay Awhile and Listens.

That is true. On Oribos if memory serves. I reckon for the players that easily miss some of the stay a while and listen dialogues, it would help adding little hints and build ups as part of the main story.

Just stumbled on your channel. Good video. New sub. I don't want to lose Khadgar, as a gnome mage (all the way back to 2008 & BC), he's been someone I've become very fond of. Heck, I almost cried listening to you talk about him dying. You put that out into the ether and IF he dies, I'll be honor bound to come find you and give you a new hairstyle...with fireballs. Just saying. And don't talk to me about old...I'm 67, a grandmother of 9, and I'll probably be playing this game until they put the laptop in my coffin. I cried during the burning of the tree. Cried when Varian and Saurfang both died. I don't want to be crying over the game again. I hope the rumor about Khadgar surviving and coming back to us happens. And...love your characters, this was fun.

I shed tears when Ysera died, actually, Legion saw me shed the most tears out of any expansion. With them passing the leadership rolls down to the younger generations with Ginn giving Tess the crown. We are seeing the timeline progress and that means old characters will die, Unless they are not human and long lived races but otherwise our short lived humens will be getting older and new characters will be born as we have seen marriages in the lore to. Bain and mayla high mountain will likely have children giving us a new character. I actually like this we have had some of the old characters a long time now i just hope blizzard does not destroy but rather build on their legacy.

I disagree with this video. I think we need to put emphasis on the world over the story. When cities get destroyed, the world is being sized down. World of Warcraft NEEDS a magical city that a historical background and World of Warcraft NEEDS a Gandalf feature, and yes that figure should be old. It's a rule in fantasy franchises. I just hate the idea of being in the new continent, and then going to the Broken Isles and seeing Dalaran there because it makes no sense and breaks immersion which is the most important aspect in MMORPG design. When locations and characters get killed off, the world is just being dumbed down. No more destroying locations and characters, keep WoW large and expansive.

I think there are a lot of factors that come into play when making a big decision such as destroying or revamping a beloved city. In order for the world to feel alive, big events within it do need to take place, and while this particular sequence of events does take place on a new continent, we must also keep in mind that the team are limited on resources as to what story they can and cannot tell in the immediate time. I do agree that there needs to be more storytelling in the main/old world -- Which seems to be more the case in this upcoming saga. I do believe there will be a follow up to what is happening to Dalaran as we only see a portion of the city in the crash, I do think that a great deal of the city will survive or end up relocating back to its original place between Silverpine and Alterac which will undoubtedly feature in the inevitable world revamp after the World Soul Saga! XD

@@williamoakleaf my suggestion is to make the world feel alive is not through the story but the world itself. For example, have random enemies spawn and patrol areas. A good example is when Stitches would spawn in Duskwood. I would also like high power mobs randomly patrol areas just like the Fel Reavers in Hellfire or the Storm Giants in Howling Fjords. EverQuest was really great at making their world feel alive and they had less resources. Basically players should experience the world more than the storyline. This isn't Game of Thrones where characters constantly have to die.

@@WeissB94 and that is my huge problem with WoW today. World of Warcraft should be made up of continents not expansions. They storyline should be static across the world. I don't like how each continent was only meant to be played with the scope of the expansion that introduced the continent.
