I met you Kenny when I was a kid in Talladega. You were talking to Schrader, and I came up and tried to ask for an autograph. Before I could get the words out of my mouth, you said “hey kid, listen to this”, and proceeded to tell Schrader a super funny story (and then gave me my autograph). I would pay good money to hear that story again. Wish I could remember it!

When it comes to famous father-son duos, few can match the legacy of Sr and Dale Jr. The late Sr, a legendary figure in the world of racing, would undoubtedly be proud of his son’s accomplishments. Despite having all the ammunition to veer off track and make mistakes, Dale Jr remained steadfast and never let his success go to his head. He stayed true to his roots, displaying remarkable maturity and sportsmanship throughout his career. His ability to navigate the challenges of the racing world with grace and integrity is a testament to his character and the values instilled by his father. Together, they have left an indelible mark on the sport, inspiring generations to come.

It doesn’t get more “real” then Kenny and Junebug!! Awesome chat.. your slot car story touched my heart. My brother Jimmy was obsessed with slot cars at 6 years old. Hershey put a slot car track 1/2 block from our house. Jimmy loved it, like nothing else. Dad sat at the kitchen table for hours building his cars, wrapping engine armatures and putting those blue tires and using “blue magoo”. Jimmy was challenge champion for 23 weeks straight!! Grown men would cry, he was unbeatable. He was almost too small to sit on the swivel stool at the track. He never won any money, but unlimited track time. He had to wear a hard hat designating him as “challenge champion. And it didn’t fit his head. We lost our Jimmy a few years ago suddenly. As we were processing the house, we found his slot car box above the garage. He kept it just like you both. Dad did woodworking and built the slot car race. How fitting that his birthday is this week and you chatted about this topic. Actually great memories but brought tears for sure. Thank you

Kenny- thank you for getting Dale on your show. What he did on the track got him in the HOF - but his dads shadow sadly stopped at Juniors age. What he does from now on is not walking in his Dad’s shadow. If you think what he has done since he retired is great just wait what the next 20 years will bring. His dad was a wheel man of the best caliber but the influence JR has will be felt for decades to come. Thank you Kenny and thank you Dale! Looking forward to the next 20 years! The best is yet to come!

One of the best interviews I've seen with Dale Jr! Those that say Jr. wasn't as good as his Daddy... haven't paid attention to the man he's become. I remember the days when his post race interviews were awkward and shy and I would have never thought then he'd be broadcasting races and have a media company on down the line. He's changed and contributed to the sport just as much as his Daddy did...just in his own way. Love you both....thanks for this!

Not because I didn’t like him I was just a Gordon fan. But now that Iv been listening to JR’s podcasts I have found a huge respect for him and found myself relating to the way he thinks. Same with you Kenny, I have found you to be so down to earth and to me that’s what matters. When Dale said that he went back to the bus and was crying his eyes out because he couldn’t seem to get out of his rut, it gave me goosebumps to know that people you think are bulletproof are just as human as me.

Being from Northern Minnesota Nascar wasn't a part of our fabric..Junior's dad started me watching regular with all his shenanigans...Tony Stewart cemented me in Nascar after that..Junior was Dale's son and honestly I thought was overrated..looking back it was unfair to compare father/son..Now today when he gets in the car I have to watch...cause I'm pulling for him..This kid is so genuine and speaks honestly about things that has to be so painful for him...I'd call him the best spokesman for any sport out there...He's must listen/watch if your trying to learn something about Nascar...great stuff.

This shows how relatable not only Dale Jr. is, but you are to everyday race fans. The conversation was incredible, and I knew it would be. Both you and Dale live motorsports; it's your life passion and something you enjoy as a fan, hearing the stories, and sharing perspectives on the past and present state of the sport is important. Newer fans, unlike me, whose first race was in the late 1970s as a kid, helped explain where we came from, how we have evolved, and where we're going as a sport. Thanks for the incredible content. I look forward to many more years of honest, down-to-earth views.

I’ve become a huge fan of Dale since he retired from racing . He really is a role model of a dad when I became a father 4 years ago
