Looked nice in the sunshine, Bakewell looked to be a nice place to be, have seen your website, looked fine, after watching the video, saw the campsite on Google Maps, a long was from where I am in Rural Chesham in Buckinghamshire, as need peace and quite with clean air, Chesham has it all - must visit!.

Thanks for watching dogs must be on a lead on the farm. There are walking trails right around for dogs and owners

I don't think you should charge for showers, basically you are paying for little more than a field. Not even sure you are legally allowed to overcharge by that amount. I would expect better facilities too.

If you look at recent videos we are building new facilities. Other sites do charge for showers it helps to keep the queues down and discourage water wastage and allows us to keep the pitch price lower. To say it’s little more than a field shows a lack of understanding for what it provided and involved. But thanks for your thoughts

Actually I fully understand what is involved. But better still, I have been camping and caravanning for years. Nowadays we simply stay in caravan parks making full use of out of season offers. Camping in the UK has become too expensive, although the Caravan Club is constantly working on the problem (or so they would have us believe). However I do understand farmers are welcoming the second income stream, and the more enlightened are making investment in site levelling, access and quality facilities. Like all business, repeat bookings is the holy grail, and only comes understanding what people want (not what you feel able to supply)

I think we are doing this. We invested in electrical hook ups, level all weather sites. No one has ever got stuck since we upgraded the pitches. We couldn’t afford to do everything at once, so we prioritised and the majority of campers were more than pleased with what we offered. Check out our reviews across various platforms. We absolutely listen to what our customers say and every year we look to invest and improve. This year we have major improvements to the facilities in a new purpose build building, with Eco credentials and under floor heating, rain water harvesting for flushing the toilets, free showers and indoor washing up area / social space. This is in addition to what we already provide - the pitch which is on a beautiful farm location, right on a bridleway for walks or bike rides, easy walking distance are 4 pubs within one mile. A local shop, the Monsal cycle trail. Rubbish and recycling service, free wifi, 24 cctv security and the chance to wander around and see them farm animals plus buy some of the farm reared meat to enjoy. We absolutely passionately love what we do and we will continue to carve out our growing reputation for being a great rural site on a working farm, in the heart of the Peak District Happy camping!!

Well done. Perhaps you need to update your website? Winter storage (especially if you have a redundant milking parlour) is an opportunity for out of season income and worth looking into. 2things I very much liked (just so you know I don't moan all the time...) The silent site ethic and the honesty shop.

We can update the website once the faculties are done - should be ready for April opening but we don’t want to make false promises. We used to do Storage but it became problematic. A good idea for some farms but we don’t have the space. Yes the quiet policy makes us a popular site for walkers and people looking to enjoy countryside, the stary night skies, the sound of the owl, bats flying around the barns, the odd crackle of a camp fire. It’s traditional.
