NASCAR is in a pretty good situation having Dale Jr. involved in all the ways he is. He is a historian, mentor, owner, ambassador and commentator. They'd so good to keep finding way to involve him

@scottswisher48404 жыл бұрын
Robert Shinn hell no bro. A simple acknowledgement isn’t a complaint. I’ve been a NASCAR fan since the early 70’s. I still attend multiple races every year. But one would have to be blind - our young - not to recognize the difference between the men of NASCAR today vs “back in the day.” But that doesn’t mean that the racing today isn’t great.

Phenomenal story indeed! Thank you Larry Mac can't wait to hear the rest! Thank you to Dale and Mike Davis as well for bringing Larry in! Awesome ending about 2 years with the "Intimidator". Dale, does that mean your dad's Daytona 500 win was Larrys 1st race with your dad?
@twoblacklabs9044 жыл бұрын
Richard Christman...Larry Mac went to work at RCR in 1997, replacing Crew Chief Andy Petree who left to start his own team and Car Chief David Smith who left for family reasons. They didn’t win much of anything as a combination in ‘97, but ended the season on a high note, when they finished Top 5 (5th) in points (w/7 Top 5 finishes and 16 Top 10’s). The 1998 Daytona 500 victory was the icing on the cake, though... They were fast for all of Speedweeks...

Was this when Kenny Bernstein owned the 26 car? Evidently yes. A great time to be involved with NASCAR. The weekend after hurricane Hugo roared through Charlotte, NC.

I’ll ALWAYS love Larry Mac for helping RCR get Dale Earnhardt that ‘98 Daytona 500 trophy, but I’m really disappointed that NASCAR hasn’t yet recognized him as a Hall of Fame Crew Chief or even as a Broadcaster... His 2 Daytona 500 wins with both Davey & Dale are certainly enough credibility to get him in, but to add what a great Ambassador of the sport he is on Fox, it would seem like such a natural to immediately induct him! I’m sure he’ll be there one day, but that day should’ve already happened... C’mon NASCAR, get it together and honor this man NOW...

The Atlanta 1991 story sounds a little off: That 26 car finished top 15 in that race, and due to lack of TV coverage for the delayed portion, do not know if the engine let go in the final lap or two.
