I love hearing Jr tell stories. He puts the story together very well, doesn't immediately get to the punch, and is very funny! You can tell he's very intelligent. I also enjoy hearing about Sr's interactions with his son, you can tell he loved him
@x...CrankyOldMan...x5 жыл бұрын
well luckily he stopped racing before he had another accident and another concussion. He sounds like he is fully recovered and hopefully no long term affects.
@trintygamesandrobloxandmor1285 жыл бұрын
tomlundkwfl sadly there will be long term effects. One of the main reasons Jr has pledged his brain to science. Yes he retired not a moment too soon but two, three, or even five concussions earlier would have been better, especially knowing now what we didn’t know then. If you know what to look for in CTE and other effects of repeated concussions Jr already has a lot of it.
@joshandkorinna5 жыл бұрын
@@trintygamesandrobloxandmor128 I'd tend to agree with you but on Joe Rogan's podcast Jr said that his neurologist told him that he shouldn't have any long-term effects from the concussions.

I didn’t really notice Your father until I watched a few certain races. I don’t remember the exact race, but I clearly remember him getting put in the very back of the pack for some reason. He then passed everyone in only a few laps while I watched in amazement. I have never seen anyone do that before. He instantly became the driver to watch and my favorite. It still causes a flood of emotions when I remember his passing. Sorry for your loss, it’s a Damn shame. He was bigger than life and lives on in so many peoples memories.

I really mean this I could listen to these stories & enjoy them more than watching todays Nascar... If they talked for 3 hrs I would listen to all 3 hrs! Cause they are talking about what most of us all grew up with... Nascar needed to make changes after Sr's passing safety wise... With the Hans device & safer barriers etc they have done that... Yet it seems if you go back to 2001 they haven't gone 2 yrs in a row without some sort of rule change that has made the sport worse in my opinion.
@M1lesJames5 жыл бұрын
I agree, but NASCAR has always been changing the rules since its inception. Now a days everything is just more polarising because of social media and all the TV coverage
@mitchdrew90053 жыл бұрын
Ya it sucks because nascar tries to make to much of a show because how popular the sport got. At its peak, maybe 95-2004 any year in there, was the best NASCAR ever got. And it kept skyrocketing in popularity and eventually became to much, nascar introduced to many things that changed it from what it was

I remember back in those days, it was actually problematic to lift with the restrictor plate motors and you'd see burnt pistons right after yellow flags and pit stops. The broadcasters would mention how part-throttle would cause burnt pistons, so it may not have been Sr. trying to fool Jr. into not lifting, he may not have wanted to destroy the motor.

Angus Gibson, several times Teresa has tried lawsuits that were thrown out due to lack of any validity. She even wanted to sue any NASCAR teams that used the same lettering font that the #3 car had. All that crap went nowhere because Dale Sr was NEVER the #3 cars owner. RCR owned them since 1976.

I've wanted to say this next thing for a long ass time. Nobody around here says Talla day ga. People who live here, work here, and see it on their local TV weather map say it Talla de ga. Rhymes with mega and nega not Sega. Years ago I worked at the track. I saw Eli Gold and using my company manners I explained to him how we say the name. I waited for an answer until I realized l must have gained the power of Invisibility. He never said or did anything to me or gave any sign that he could see and hear me two or three feet away. Lord, it still makes me feel insignificant. It was such simple tactic but his masterful performance raised it to an art form. What a guy!
