Saturday night saw Dale Earnhardt Jr take his late model stock car to the 16th annual Hampton Heat at Langley Speedway in Virginia, where he finished fifth.

He can't spread himself but so thin - he's already outdone it trying to support the comeback of North Wilkesboro- but I wish he'd show more interest in tracks like Greenville- Pickens, and ROCKINGHAM. But - on that one, the ball forever - and frustratingly - remains in NASCAR's court......

Langley has definitely changed! I havent seen that track since the 80's. Grew up watching Phil Warren, Bubba Adams, Danny Edwards Jr, Elton and Roger Sawyer! Lots of memories!

That whole atmosphere is what racing is all about and what made it what it used to be. Nothing like it is today. It’s lost its identity pretty much. It’s Friday night after working all week. Having a cold beer and the smell of burned high octane fuel. Your lady by your side. You can feel the power in those engines from the back row. That’s what made nascar what it used to be. Not this bullshit you have today. I hope this picks up I could def be a part of this.
